No Superstar wants to Play with Westbrook
PG requested to be traded to the Clippers to play with Kawhi. Westbrook gonna average triple double being a lottery pick. OKC should trade him to the Knicks for draft picks and rebuild and hope they find again the next Harden and Durant

As ninja said earlier who wants to take that salary |
The Knicks trading for Westbrook is a total Knick move.
They should do it. |
Russ will be fine. PG was awesome to have but they still didn't get past Utah or Portland. It is what it is - he's the Mike Trout of the NBA (with more grrrr and rambunctiousness).
KD pusses out to join the already great Warriors. PG (if he really did want the trade), jumps ship with the most recent NBA finals MVP and 2-time champion. Notice a trend? That's not wanting to play with Russ, those are roads to easier championship chances. Nothing honorable about either move. Again, only if PG requested the trade. If he got traded without his go ahead, then you would be right. Otherwise, it's simply a dumb statement. |

Look how Oladipo and Sabonis thrived once they got away from Russ. Russ doesn't want to play the right way and Billy Donovan is happy being an NBA coach with no expectations... so he ain't gonna say a word. We have Lakers, Clippers, Jazz, Nuggets, Warriors, Spurs, Blazers and Rockets as a top 8 I'm guessing... that doesn't leave any playoff spots for the Thunder. |
Russ is gonna average 40-15-15 on 50 shots a game, 30% shooting and 10 turnovers per game.

Do I think Russell Westbrook is the best player in the NBA? Probably not, but no other NBA Star plays harder.
Would I teach my son to hustle like any other player in the NBA? No Ask Michael Jordan who he thinks the best player in the NBA Is? His answer is Westbrook because he plays 110% the entire game.... It doesnt matter if you agree with his decision making nobody plays harder. Calling him a ball hog or whatever you want is foolish. He passes more per Possession then anybody even close to his level or scoring. Maybe if Thunder got a few players who wanted to plays as hard with Westbrook it would help. Durant is a Diva, George is good on both ends, but clearly stands in the corner and takes plays off. I will continue to support a NBA Player who clearly a once in a generation talent/drive athlete who give it all on the court. I will not support awful one ended plays like James Harden. I dont even want my kid see him play half the game of basketball.. I will never understand somebody who knocks down a guy for playing hard, maybe he doesnt have the best shot or decision making, but when you favorite players is standing in the corner take a play off... Westbrook is ballin |

So much lulz coming from a Draymond fan. |
If any athlete has problem with any member of the media or acts out against them I couldn't care less. You don't live there life of dealing with that everyday. If they break the law then its problem.
I live in Vermont and im not a Thunder fan. I just like players who have drive and play hard.... |
seems okc tried to trade pg and westbrook to raptors but raptors didnt give in?

Nobody wants to play with a ballhog....same reason nobody besides AD wanted to team up with LeBron.

Ok...ball-dominant... |
Horrible take.
a) PG wanted to play with someone better than Westbrook. Like Kawhi. b) PG wanted to play in LA. Like the Clippers do. |

I really am excited this worked out the way it did. This will be an exciting season.

That could have simply meant he prefers playing with Westbrook than with LeBron |

Westbrook wants to ball out, tries to ball out, gives every ounce of heart, and doesnt care if anybody has opinions. Are you kidding me...bully and Westbrook should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Bully, #@#@#@#@#@#@#@, & Draymond now those are synonyms. |
Westbrook seems like that really petty coworker everyone cannot stand, but he is really good at his job

Nah, Westbrook screwing with a reporter is far more unsportsmanlike than Draymond kicking everyone in the balls. That’s a stand up guy. |

He doesn’t believe his best option is to distribute. He jogged the ball while KD wanted him to pass it to him... Russ said no and KD said bye Felicia |
well he does pass it at least 10 times a game

[/B] [/QUOTE] That's the style Russ likes to play. An Iso game where Russ dominates the ball most of the game to get his triple double and when George has the ball... Russ will just stand around and rush to the basket in hopes of a rebound. He isn't making any cuts to try to get open. So vise versa.... when Russ has the ball... George will stand around. |
I am by no means a Westbrook fan, but this has more to do with other players like Durant and PG jumping ship looking for an easier way to rings more than it has to do with RW. As much as I don't like RWs game, he gets more respect than both PG and Durant at this point for not taking easy way out!!

Paul George stood around watching in Indiana too.. so unless Russell Westbrook was there then im not sure if you are watching the games |

Have you seen the reporter he won’t acknowledge but is the main cover guy for the thunder? He absolutely disrespects him; and it’s not close either. Draymond acknowledges reports and has words spoken/dialogue while Westbrook isn’t even close to that |

OK. Did you google search "Russell Westbrook bullies reporter" yet? |
Westbrook is a monster player. Very durable.
He alone can take the team to playoffs but he needs a very specific style of game to be successful in a 7 game series. Spurs and Heat might be his perfect style. Maybe move to the SG instead of PG. Just dont know if Jimmy Butler would like to pair with him. |

RW got his triple double

Westbrook the perfect Spur? Now I've heard everything.

bumping this so LeBron James and Anthony Davis can read it. I probably should have bumped it before last July.... this was one fun season to watch LOL

I hope they run it back

Biggest bozo in NBA history.

47 million player option for next year - think he exercises it?
|
“Was never given a fair shot”, “No one supported me”, “I was never allowed to be who I need to be to help the team”.
Get the hell out of here. There is absolutely no way the Lakers can keep him. |
Gotta admit... re-reading this from 2019 has been fun.. its crazy how wrong so many people were in defending Westbrook and his abilities.
|
my guess is:
1) they keep russ, rework the bench as best they can and try and lure a big name coach to take on the dumpster fire. i could see them tapping doc rivers, especially if philly fails to make a splash in the playoffs 2) (*caveat: i'm a blazers fan) the lakers send russ and 3-4 years worth of unrestricted first round picks to portland for lillard. we have no one on our roster and would be wise to do dame a solid and send him to a preferred destination without him explicitly having to ask - i believe he's interested in the lakers, but not sure if he wants to play with lebron. he gave us so much over the last ten years and never complained. westbrook probably makes the blazers a borderline playoff team with the current roster bc he gets to run the show (eg: when he was w/washington) and we can go into full rebuild once his contract is up (one year) and the picks start rolling in. |
So this is the difference between the Lakers and say, the Celtics and the Mavs. Instead of taking the chance on new coaching blood they would take a Doc Rivers who is not really going to get you there any more.

Was thinking about this earlier. What if someone paid him $20M cash to decline his option and frees up $47M and he's free to sign with another team? Some rich Lakers fan just to get him away from the team. |

coming from the delusional mind of a spurs fan... any questions? |
I think Westbrook would thrive on the Celtics. Because Smart, Tatum, and Brown would be able to work with him in a way that harnessed his skills. And the fans seem to appreciate grit. I'd like to see them trade Nesmith, Hauser, and picks for him.
Wait... Celtics don't have picks. wonder if they would part with Horford. That would actually still put them over though... |

I mean the Lakers would be getting some real young talent that has been through the Celtics boot camp and thrived. They would get more future run for sure on that.... an absolute sniper and a polite-on-the-floor Draymont Green. It makes sense in a way because the Celtics' system has worked too well. They just don't have roster space for younger talent and the Lakers have nothing but. As for the Lakers next coach, I can recommend Damon Lamon Stoudamire, currently assistant coach under Udoka. "I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not. He would be a team killer for the Celtics" I think it would be fascinating experiment. I think the team would actually teach Westbrook about passing and stuff that a player his age should start thinking about anyway. |

He’s a competitor and talent but, for a vet, he seems to be regressing in decision making instead of it complimenting his prime years Someone took the time to put this together.
