Solid card! I traded away a red refractor the other week. Hopefully you can find one.
I remember seeing your thread! Such a beautiful card, but can’t complain with what you got back. |

Many thanks to Joe for an awesome trade and great communication! He is an outstanding member on the board and pleasure to trade with! I did have to trade away my top Soto among others for the red :(. but it was a big missing piece for the near complete rainbow I have. By far my favorite Soto to date now :) .. still missing the acetate if anyone has one, obviously super hard to find but still looking. Thanks again Joe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You mention needing the Acetate going for the rainbow after acquiring the Red HMT55... Going for both the 300 and 55 rainbows? That’d be insane, I’d love to see your progress! |

It is pretty impressive. Really the main reason why I made the trade since I knew it was going to a near complete rainbow. |

Yea both, been at it for a long time lol. Most still raw since all PC, but several purchased are already graded. Will post pics later this week, but really wanted to wait until i finally get them all graded some day (No rush after reading about the tighter PSA changes lately). Obtained several from many different members on here over the past year, so this community has been a great help! Many thanks again to Joe to getting me one step closer! What does everyone think about the 2020 Heritage Soto Error Variation? I personally love this year's Heritage, though I know it's a lower tier product. Just thinking its print run (errors fall one in 8000 packs or 27 cases) could lead to a great value over time. The set also seems to be pretty condition sensitive with the black borders and terrible corners right out of packs. I'm thinking high grade versions could command premium over some time.

I've said it before here, but pretty much anything that makes a card different and rare these days can be described as a gimmick, including such things as serial numbering, parallels that may or may not be in different colors, autographs/relics, use of the RC or 1st Bowman logo, throwback card designs, etc. We just have to decide which gimmicks appeal to us and which ones don't.
With that said, it's my opinion that intentional "error" cards are a particularly gimmicky kind of gimmick, and they don't appeal to me at all. I collect Soto, but I wouldn't buy an intentional error card of him if it were cheap, and I certainly wouldn't buy one if it were expensive. Edited to add: that said, if you like them, buy them and enjoy them! We should all buy what we like! |

I'm trying to get my first nice Soto RC card. Have about $600 to spend.
Which do you think will have the best value long-term? - Topps Update Rainbow Foil PSA 10 - Topps Chrome Pink Refractor PSA 10 - Topps Update Hands On Hips PSA 10 |

But I’d say foil forsure is the top one, the other two would be neck and neck |

Is the Rainbow Foil considered an SP even if it's not serial numbered to anything? |

I would consider it a SP, only around 2k made. PSA 10’s will fetch a premium of course |

Yes, it’s short printed (compared to us300). My vote is also for the pink or rainbow. Not a fan of hands on hips. |

Yes, but I believe the rainbow is even more of a short print. Can anyone confirm? I have the pink PSA 10 and it’s gorgeous and very shiny! I would be happy with either. |

Didn't do too well but did get 10's on a Rainbow and Pink Refractor. Hands on Hips got a 9. I'll probably have them in hand the beginning of next week if you're still looking. Have a Refractor /250 PSA 10 as well that I'll probably more shortly if you're feeling crazy. :) -Jeff |

I have the pink PSA 10 and it’s gorgeous and very shiny! I would be happy with either.
I did the math for pink refractors in post #2088 in this thread (page 84). Bottom line is we can't know for sure how many there are, because we don't know how much of the product was packed out in the value packs (which had the pink refractors) versus blasters (which did not). Estimates range from a print run of 2400 to as many as 4000. 3000 or 3500 are reasonable estimates in between. I didn't do the math on the rainbow foils, but I remember someone (I think it was pewe?) saying once that they're at around 2400 or so. So it's pretty likely that the rainbow foils are a little more rare. And they're probably more condition sensitive too. Without checking, I'd say it's a good bet the PSA 10 population of rainbow foils is much lower than pinks. That said, I wonder what HMT55 Chrome Update Refractors are going for these days. Those are much more rare yet (numbered to 250) and they were in the ballpark of $600 not too long ago. |

He had very fair prices for all of his other cards as well so I would imagine they are close to that, which is insane. |

Yep, that's probably about right for a PSA 10 (I assume that was a 10). The ones I saw a little while back around the 600 price point were more like PSA fine 9s or raw. :) |
