Maybe I’m lost. It sounded like he said he was looking to start “collecting” Soto. Thought it would make sense to start his collection with his RC rather than his RD.

To each his own! But there are plenty of US 300s to "collect." No shortage of them. However, there are shortages of other reasonably priced rookie year cards though, that could see a steadier rise than US300...

Well it happened. I was able to acquire my dream Soto Rookie card from BO member "[B][COLOR="red"][U]Dave2424[/U][/COLOR][/B]" through a local deal. I can't thank him enough! Ever since I heard about/saw the 2018 Independence Day, it soared right to the top of my want list.

I'm really thankful to add this card to my PC.

Congrats. I'd probably put that particular card right behind Bat Down (i.e., second) on my personal list of the most visually perfect baseball cards of 2018.

CONGRATS!! Welcome to the club. In my opinion it's the best looking Soto card and honestly you can make a strong argument for the most visually appealing modern card in existence.

Nope you aren’t wrong, just if I was starting to collect him, and saw the options he considered, I would lean towards a shorter print Rc “insert” out of the update set. Silver pack refractors are actually a really good buy in any grade to me. They will snug right up behind the Pink chrome refractors I feel down the road. Base Rc Image aside, the silver pack is a great image as well.

I'd put the Indy behind bat down Sapphire as the most aesthetically pleasing cards (of relevant players) in the past decade.
