Because Harper is a distraction and complete opposite of who Trout is as a player and person. Harper demands attention, Trout sheds it. He just wants to play ball. Reminds me of the 50s and 60s when guys like Mantle and Mays were in the limelight and loved it. Aaron was quietly becoming arguably the best player ever. Trout wants to win, but he plays hard all the time. Harper dish it when he wants, whines and still acts like he’s the best player in the game. Trout is. Harper knows he will not lead any team to a WS. He needs better players to do it, but I don’t think Trout would want to play with a guy like him.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Totally agree with TBP on this. Was about to say the same thing when I noticed he already said it. LOL. Philly might just be an even BETTER fit for having Harper there. He can be the loudmouth attention whore, and Trout will no longer be prodded to be something he's not. He can just quietly go about the business of WINNING while Harper can loudly go about the business of WHINING. Perfect match! |
How do you send that in to get graded? That's awesome! Love the Diamond too!

You need to get the big one graded
LOL that would be amazing! Unfortunately it would not grade well. I had it shipped home via UPS in hopes of avoiding any damage from shifting if I tried to put it in an overhead bin. Of course, UPS found a way to drop something on it, and it sustained some damage even though it was "professionally packed". It's printed on foam core, so not like it's very durable to begin with. The back now has a diagonal crease that mercifully did NOT transfer to the front...and the top edge is a bit chewed up. Thinking of throwing it in a simple frame, though, so I can at least get it up on the wall where it belongs. |

I just think Harper would want to tag team with Trout, try to get him to be something he isn’t. I don’t think Trout despises attention from fans as much as he does the media. He just wants to win and play the game. He doesn’t have to be “the best”. Harper grew up being spoon fed that he was the best. Topps, media, collectors etc bought in back in 2011-2012. He’s had one great season and he’s still considered one of the top players. It’s a joke people still use the word “potential” for Harper. Dudes been in the league for 7 years. Trout cares about his teammates and would never pull the crap Harper has. To me, if Trout wanted to play with him, he could have asked the Angels to make a push to sign him. I don’t think he cares one bit about playing with Harper. If anything, Harper being in Philly may cause Trout to back away from Philly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It comes with the job, and Trout is incredibly gracious with fans, and also interviews well. He might not seek out the attention, or endorsement deals, but that doesn't mean that he despises it. He just doesn't need it. I also don't think you need to protect Trout from Harper. He's not a fragile little flower. Locker rooms are filled with all types of personalities, and if anything, Trout has proven an ability to get along with just about anyone. I've never heard of him having any conflict of any kind with teammates...have you? You seem to think that Harper is such a strong personality (and Trout the exact opposite), that Trout needs to be protected from him lest he be turned to the dark side in his shadow. I just don't buy it. |

whats the current market on finest logo autos? i thought they would rise to the top but they are seeming to stagnate a bit?
|
He seems to do a hybrid auto with the IP "M" on the standard auto but also a simpler connection from the M to the T then his sitdown autos, but his IPs aren't typically connected at all. The /25 is a standard sitdown now

I saw an interview with Trout where he says he called Harper right after he heard about the signing. He said they text regularly so I don't think it would be a stretch to assume they are friends. Personalities aside they have a very common bond relating to career, prestige, money, etc. I expect Bryce picked Philly because he already expected Trout to come in 2 years which is why he took a longer contract and less annual salary to keep the door open.

exactly. cmon now. Is everyones friends have the exact same personality as you? |
But then I see something like this and wonder why Trout changes up his autos, even on the same card. Maybe his hand got tired?

He can sign 1300 cards in less than 60 minutes. So yeah, not every auto will be perfect. He gets pretty damn close, though...!

Excellent point. I think you have something here. Harper mentioned Trout at his introductory press conference with the Phillies. I'm not going so far to bet my money on Philly just yet (as much as I'd like to), but...I do think Bryce would bet HIS money on Trout going to Philly! |
I'd bet the ranch Trout ends up in Philadelphia. If they have the money why wouldn't he want to go home to a winning franchise regardless of where Harper is.

Did he say that at the transcendence party? That's pretty fast. 2.86 seconds per card. |

One of the Topps employees mentioned that he sat with Trout as he signed 1300 cards while watching Shark Tank. I guess it could have been more than one episode. I don't think it was a speed test or anything - just a testament to how he's become a bit of a machine when it comes to signing. |
