Why is it considered such a trashy set? QC issues? Lack of good rookies?
It's somewhere in here. https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1535849 |
Correct. So I'll just tell it how it is. Topps chrome has always been a terrible product. Even at $65 a box back in the days, it was a bloodbath. I don't see the intrigue with those rushing to buy a product that hasn't even released a checklist. Who knows, there might be 150+ players on the auto checklist and the majority being scrubs. Wait, we do know but let's just buy anyways because the price is "cheap" compared to previous years. You can spend your money how you want so carry on.:)!
Ignorance is the intrigue. |

One of the worst Ultra-Modern products ever made, Tons of Scrub Vet AU, terrible odds due to MASSIVE Print Run, Terrible QC |

This! People buy this stuff without knowing anything about the actual product. Tons of people that buy into breaks don't actually know the odds, print runs, QC issues, etc. Just further proof its pure addiction. |
Prices aren't bad on hobby/jumbo, of course there's fewer autos now.
$35 for a blaster box of Topps Chrome is obscene.
What's in a blaster of this? |

Looks like the only guarantees are two sepia unnumbered refractors, two pink unnumbered refractors and worse odds on everything else. |
This caught my eye. It's ugly/pretty, and I assume this is one of the "Radiating Rookies."

Looks like hobbies are sold out. "sold out"

Ordered 3 blasters. Hoping for better QC this year.

How do I get a case of this garbage?

If they follow what they did for 2023 Flagship series 2, they'll be available on Topps' website release day. That's how I got some hobby boxes... And every single rookie card I pulled that was off center 50/40 or worse |
there will be plenty of this made
How do I get a case of this garbage?
Usually available on actual release day via topps website (if you were being serious :D)
I am serious, just poking fun. I think this checklist is going to be awesome with a dee rookie class.
I figured the preorder cap meant no cases through Topps, even on release. Appreciate it, thank you! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk |
Surprised to see the Jumbo still available. Given that great (relatively speaking of course) price point for the Hobby box I'm not surprised it sold out first.

I opened a ote chrome blaster and the quality was was really good compared to last year chrome and bcu. If anything like those I will be happy. |

Here's my thoughts: After adjusting for price, jumbo is the better configuration. Why? Each jumbo box offers at least 2 rookie autos. You need to rip 3 hobby boxes to hit at least 1 rookie auto. Most veteran autos will be trash. Unfortunately, there's also a lot of trash rookie autos too (so jumbo boxes involve some risk but the ceiling is higher than hobby). Breakers most likely targeted hobby because it's cheaper to buy and easier to fill (lower-priced) spots. Break outcomes don't matter either, they just need to fill the spots. So even if most hobby boxes are poo, they can get through them and make a nice gain when buy-in is only $125 + tax. Personal rippers either only bought hobby (hobby because it was priced cheaper, although after adjusting for price, it's the inferior configuration) or both. |

what about Sapphire?

can us regs buy the breaker boxes without having to watch some guy in a crop top open it for us?

absolutely NOT! haha |
12 less autos per hobby case and 16 less autos per jumbo case. I know 90% of the autos are garbage, but that seems like a big issue for the price.
1 hobby box and you get some random middle relief pitcher....ouch.
Where are the autos getting redirected to? Breakers delight! Probably all the colour as well |
