Average matching last year alone? No way. He won the batting title at around .345 if memory serves correct. This late in the season, general estimate needs him to bat .466 until the end of the season to match last year.

However, he has a large lead in runs and ~400/900 for OBP/OPS. Those are actually elite numbers (<15 people per year on average).

This is only an off year compared to last year. I think this season will end up being better than his runner up MVP season in 2016.
No no. Last year is long gone. The post was referencing someone saying he cannot get to .300/30/20

NeedChapmans 07-27-2019 09:04 AM

The climb continues.

LOL. Sox have the #2,#3,#5 guys in the AL in WAR, and are the 7th best team by record.

No it wasn't. Read my post again and what I responded to. That person said he "can't match last year". I said outside of average (which was .345), all other stats are in reach.

.300 is easily reachable. .345 not so much.

Lol either the rest of the team has mediocre/negative war (pitching?), WAR is blah or both!

I think 18 SB's from here out is going to be really tough, especially since hardly anybody runs anymore. He can certainly hit 32 HR like he did last year and I think he'll beat last year's 129 runs scored.

Maybe I'm biased because I have a lot of his stuff but I believe there's still massive growth potential in Mookie's cards. We've seen what happens in his good years (MVP) and in his "off years" (possibly .300/30/80/20/140). Somebody that has "off years" like those is going to be a $1k Chrome auto one day.

No way is he getting to 30 steals this year, 10 a month basically is a tough task.

Given his track, 30 homeruns might not happen.

His career totals are going to sneak up on people. I don't expect him at all to get to 500 homeruns, but 3,000 hits, 300-400 homeruns, with tons of runs and a steady amount of RBI's, steals over 300(maybe...), plus slashing .300/.400/.500 when his career is over...

I agree with you 100% on his career totals. Add in what will be a ridiculous career WAR and possibly multiple MVP's and you've got one of the true superstars of his generation.

Honestly I couldn't believe his prices dipped, by about 20%. I'm kinda spent out right now, but I really should've turned some money into a couple more Chrome Update's, or base update PSA 10's.

Yes, he's going to be under some other guys, but he has a very solid track record and his worst year he still bounced back the next year and won MVP despite being injured.

ThoseBackPages 07-27-2019 03:33 PM

VERY baseball good indeed

Mookie Chrome Auto 9.5's are roughly $475 right now. Trout is roughly $8500. Certainly I'm not comparing the 2 but is it impossible that Mookie could be 25% of Trout one day? If so then he's a $2k+ 9.5.

i would focus on his MLB RCs if i were investing in Mookie, especially since they are the same year

There's certainly an argument for that but I believe a player's first Chrome auto will always be his best card.

Great time to buy with the 10% ebay bucks promotion and an oversaturated market.

I had a lowball snipe of $450 on all, and didn't hit one of course.

MOOOK!

OPS = .905, it’s better than the golden boy in a down year!

Big35Hurt 09-04-2019 08:23 PM

Two homeruns in two innings. Hoping he can get hot in the final weeks and help Boston get a wildcard (that will trigger some people).
