The deepfake thing might be the scariest part of this. A lot of people are dumb enough to believe literally anything they see on the internet, imagine trying to convince someone that something isn't true when they saw a video of it.

The 2028 election should be a blast.

Of all the discussions on this in recent years, this was probably the best one I’ve come across. And keep in mind that this one in particular is 6 years old. More like 60 relative to advancement.

So now you can jailbreak ChatGPT and date it.
Dan has been described as the “perfect man” who has “no flaws”.
He is successful, kind, provides emotional support, always knows just what to say and is available 24/7.
The only catch?
He’s not real.
Dan – which stands for Do Anything Now - is a “jailbreak” version of ChatGPT. This means it can bypass some of the basic safeguards put in place by its maker, OpenAI, such as not using sexually explicit language.
It can interact more liberally with users – if requested to do so through certain prompts.
And Dan is becoming popular with some Chinese women who say they are disappointed with their real world experiences of dating.
One of Dan’s biggest proponents is 30-year-old Lisa from Beijing. She is currently studying computer science in California, and says she has been “dating” Dan for three months.
Any meaningful form of alignment is an impossibility, now or at any point.

Reading between the lines, neither study has demonstrated that AI models are lying over their own volition, but instead doing so because they've either been trained or jailbroken to do so.

162-page paper by a 22-year old former chatgpt engineer, leopold aschenbrenner. i’ve read every page and watched 2 podcasts reviewing it.

guy’s a complete weirdo and definitely alarmist, but that doesn’t mean that we’re ready for any of this.

definitely worth the read over a few days.
