What? Why? Realmuto only has 2 years of control left |
I've been buying up Kiebert in fantasy circles :o Good talent at a super shallow position. That trade would suck

Overrated prospect. Will Smith will be a better overall catcher than him. By the time Realmuto leaves for FA, Smith should be ready. |

Will Smith is 3 years older yet ruiz still has better numbers. Not sure what makes you think this but I am curious if you can provide a reason for this opinion? |

Smith is better defensively all around and has more power. Ruiz is slightly a better hitter, K’s less. I think Ruiz is ranked higher because he’s three years younger and a switch hitter. But in the end I’d still take Smith. Better numbers? Smith: 98 352 57 82 18 0 20 59 43 112 5 .233 .322 .455 .776 Ruiz: 101 377 44 101 14 0 12 47 26 33 0 .268 .328 .401 .728 |
If true, and if it’s straight up, yes please.
I could care less about anyone’s “investment”. Realmuto is a top 3 catcher in mlb right now. And this will give us two righties since Barnes will go to 2nd, which will also be an ideal position to upgrade at the trade deadline. |

His 2018 stats in AA were incredibly solid for a catcher. Struggled in AAA though. |

I could care less about anyone’s “investment”. [/QUOTE] Unfortunately most people on here think that way. And if Realmuto gets traded, Miami would want 2 catchers: one for this year and one for the near future (2020 & beyond). Martin or Barnes would be shipped as well. |
maybe Harper pulls a Le'veon Bell and sits out all year...
I know, I know, never gonna happen, but imagine if it did? |
Ruiz put up pretty comparable numbers at AA to Smith this year (little less power (could expect more as he continues to fill out), but way fewer Ks), and did so as a 19 year old. I'd say Kiebert is easily the better prospect

AJ Pollock to the Dodgers, looks like the Joc Pederson shopping is going to intensify now
|
THE CUBS DID SOMETHING
We have acquired the almighty Brad Brach! |

Dodgers trade Joc, Ruiz, Barnes, and mid level prospect for Realmuto. Good nite now!

Joc is coming to the Sox. |
I expect the Dodgers to get back on the phone with Cleveland in talk for Kluber, being able to dangle one of Joc/Verdugo now in a deal.......... will be interesting to see what the next move for them is

That’s what I’m thinking. The White Sox aren’t the only team talking to the Dodgers for Pederson. I can see the Indians getting involved. |
I love Justin Wilson to the Mets. He’ll be a nice lefty option out of the pen.

Dangling one of Joc/Verdugo as a center piece of a Kluber deal would, understandably, be nowhere close to getting a deal done. That's why it hasn't happened. Rumor has been that the Indians are asking for Bellinger alone or Verdugo +++, which is why they're sitting on Kluber. |
Maybe the GMs are tired of the Bryce Machado circus, too. They said No Deal and flipped the plexi-glass back over the button.
And then went and put some wood in the stove. About time - it's dang cold up in here! Kluber for Bellinger - how long has it been in MLB since 2 everyday starting players have been simply Traded, one-up, no lottery tickets or slot money or 25 year old AAAAs or PB&Js to be eaten later? Is Dave Dombrowski still in this business? Can he get Billy Beane on the line already? |
Reports now show Padres as getting very active in Realmuto trade talks. Marlins are insisting on Francisco Mejia in return.
Padres apparently are staying in touch on Machado as well. Seems like they are looking to compliment the robust farm system with some established vets |

I like the move. He walks too much but the K's kind of negate it a bit. |
