Yep, yep, who cares who owned it, and yep.
Also sold mine for $625 which included 3 Kerry Kittles autographed rookie cards, and a Greg Oden "Tripod" DNA card. BEAT THAT
Just sold a Luka for just over $1000 that I bought for $2.59 on January 12, there is complete transparency on transaction history and that's important because the NBA Top Shot community values it and entirely the point of the Flow blockchain and why this is a current success. Oh and the "BEAT THAT" part...I dont have to ship and there is a zero chance of a refund....would that be Checkmate? |
But do you have the ability to see when it was produced, how many were produced, who owned it and utilize it for an App based fantasy league? Most of all, can you sell yours for $500?
Wow cant I just enjoy the collectible gif hobby without being being judged? Just because my Lebron gif isn't worth $500 doesn't mean I cant collect them on my other laptop. A pay to win fantasy league sounds terrible. |
. All the haters are looking at this the same way people in the late 1800s looked at baseball cards. Eventually those who are laughing at this will be joining.
Some of them have too much pride and still wont even though this is still in Beta and could be considered the early adopter phase of the technology adoption lifecycle. Assuming this technology is available to NBA fans that have access to social media(future App): NBA Fans followers on Facebook 38.54 million NBA followers on Twitter 28.4 million That 12,000 print run doesn't seem so bad. The last 24 hours had me concerned with the clear short term drop of my port but that Luka sale and clear rise back has me confident. They really have to work those bugs out though and figure out the best way to release more packs |

Can they really not even keep the site under control for a closed and fairly limited drop of packs?

It’s pretty ridiculous. I was having a pretty good time today flipping. Then they released more packs...into a site that can’t handle the existing traffic... |

Just shows how much demand there is for this even with no advertising whatsoever. Its a good problem to have for us. I'm confident they will fix these problems eventually and its just growing pains right now. |

I do agree they will figure it out eventually but it was a big mistake releasing more packs today. Every time the marketplace crashes, more potential customers are turned away and frustration mounts in the existing customer base. There is no doubting the demand is spiking but they are going to kill this product if they don’t slow down and prioritize the scaling. |
Do not release packs in prime time. please.
All the Cool Cats in mid purchased , "Unfortunately we weren't able to process your purchase for " . Was happy to just buy 4 i needed already and get it over with. I thought |
So, how do you withdraw money? Sold a Cool Cat Rui for $300 because why not but have no idea how to actually realize it.
I'm in the same boat as far as not knowing what Topps and the Panini App do. As for as the difference between Top Shot, I would compare it to looking at a photo and watching TV. With the TV, you can save what you want and watch it later, you can log-into Netlfix and see whats on, you can buy a few new releases to watch, you can join a community and talk about what new movies you'd like to see or just talk about your favorite show... with the photo, you can keep adding more photos on the wall, some will be better than others but for others to see it, they have to come over to your house.
I don't quite follow your analogy. I think I get the idea of collecting the moments like photos that you display at home, but I don't really get how that's any different than collecting digital cards and "hanging them on your wall"
Top shot allows you to buy and sell your moments real time. I'm not too familiar with the Panini Dunk app but I'm pretty sure that isn't a thing on the platform. It's an officially licensed NBA product just like Panini basketball cards but its the first of its kind. These moments are verifiably yours on the blockchain in Topshot when you buy it. Yes, you could technically save a gif of the play on your computer but that doesn't mean you own it in the flow blockchain which is where the real value is. There is no physical alternative to topshot but you could also say bitcoin has no physical alternative but it's still considered valuable. The developers are also in the process of making a game that can utilize these moments giving it a utility factor unlike that of sports cards. Spencer Dinwiddie, Javale McGee, and Aaron Gordon are just a few of the investors along with Samsung, Coinbase, and a few venture capital funds legitimizing this new form of collectibles. All the haters are looking at this the same way people in the late 1800s looked at baseball cards. Eventually those who are laughing at this will be joining.
Can you explain further this idea of owning these gifs in the blockchain and them being verifiably yours. I guess I'm just struggling to understand how a GIF can be any more yours than IceTrae's who has been downloading them and shared the LeBron earlier in the thread? I actually think the lack of a physical alternative would help its value, whereas with cards people would prefer the physical alternative instead of the digital. I don't really care about it from an investing perspective. More just trying to understand whether or not I would want to participate and grow a collection the way I do with cards. |
First, they are more than your standard GIF image. These are videos from normally two different angles. Second, I get it's digital so I'll try and make a sensible comparison. It would be similar to watching a movie on Blu-Ray DVD and the same movie recorded by a camcorder inside a movie theater |
