Plus Kyrie returning from an extended absence has never destroyed a team’s dynamic ever before. I think he’ll be good.
Question now becomes: how does he perform when he's thrust into a more prominent offensive role once AD/Rie go down with the inevitable back/leg issues....
Yeah so Tre Johnson is going to be a very good NBA player…
You still have time to qualify this statement based on his unfortunate geographic location, brother.

I never know how to comp these dudes; because Wizzards. It does seem like he's got a great natural feel for the game, and I really like that he's got a solid middy. Free throw percentages indicate he'll always be a bucket.

But he could be anywhere form a Monk-to-Cam Thomas-to=Clarkson+-to Simons-to Beal...or anything in between.

Hopefully him and Sarr develop some nice chemistry...or any chemistry whatsoever.

Portland big man scouts on a generational run.

Yang supplying Chinese tarriff proponents enough fodder to last 10 Trump terms.

Wiz must be your local team. Apparently he’s a good defender, which elevates him above Buddy status. What I saw tonight was Nesmith—incredibly smooth jumper both off the dribble and catch+shoot. Excellent body control. Might have a better handle than Nesmith. Question with those guys is if they can develop some playmaking chops and initiate offense to get to another level, like Bane, Maxey, and Booker did. But he showed a level of controlled aggression you don’t see at summer league. Up there with VJ as the two I’m most excited about after 1 watch. Just need to see Harper, Coward, and Murray-Boyles now.

I wish I were that fortunate.

I really want to see the Wizz emerge from the depths of purgatory. I mean...theoretically it's bound to happen eventually...r-right?

They just need that alpha to emerge to help shift the culture and get the ball rolling.

Vaguely recall how the Suns faced this same predicament for a vast majority of the 2010's.

Til they brought in James Jones/CP3 and actually took forming a cohesive roster seriously.

Anyone watching game 8 of the finals?

Photos too fuzzy, can't tell who it is.

But the whole Internet is all lit up about the Pacers 14 point comeback against the Cavs last night and how Quenton Jackson is the new face.

They should have a new rule. If teams are within 5 percent parity on every meaningful stat, a Finals series goes to 9. We know Haliburton would have been back.

I honestly think game # should be fluid. Only teams with records >.500 should be playoff eligible (whether that’s 6 or 10 in a conference) and there should be a playoff series aggregate target that ends the series once surpassed, but the series continues until 1 team hits that target. Think that would be very exciting—you wouldn’t know if a game would be the last when it starts.

I dunno. The 31 point performance seems kind of fluky, tbh. I'm thinking 10 points should be his real baseline considering his meh draft pedigree. Dude'll be lucky to hold Laettner's jock.

'Twas a nice run, Yoker. But the Euro-Al Bundy dominance stops here. There's a new Mao Zedong in town.

Feels good to finally have a decent contrarian pick to back.

This is an overreaction thread, Ninja. Your options are HOF lock or out of the league within 4 years. I’m giving it 1 more Spurs game before I ban myself from the thread because my overreaction is just a spot-on reaction:
I’ll start. After 4 whole minutes of watching him play, is Carter Bryant just Keegan Murray without a jump-shot?
If Blazers are your local team I’ll feel a lot of pity, but also Deni and Jrue are super fun.

If only I were that fortunate.

I'm indifferent on Carter. Only thing I can say is that he has a very family friendly face. Like you can tell he clects Pokemon on the side even without an exit interview. Also holds for the Murray twins, so you're probably onto something.

re: Yao Bling. Haven't witnessed court vision like that since the OJ trial. Not even capping. I predict more Americans are going to be chanting Hansen by midseason than when Mmmbop topped the Billboard Top 100.

Bro different yet eerily similar.

Hansen first rookie all-star since Blake is a worthy submission. We accept.

Looking at projected depth charts, I continue to not understand why Toronto are as bad as they are. They have some players I legitimately like, not just ironically like.

This is all assuming he stays off the POTUS' radar and avoids extradition.

I think Barnes hit an early ceiling. Like he's just not that dude. I view him as a dumbed down Paolo. His game's always going to be capped by his terrible perimeter shooting since he's not big enough to impose his will like Yannis in that point-forward role.

Rest of the roster is pretty meh. Dick, RJ, BI all low efficiency volume shooters that offer little else. Feels like they're lacking both an alpha and an identity.

Another victim of the post year 3 max… I don’t get it. You can see 75% of the house or 100% of the house, but pay the same price regardless? I need a discount if I’m putting in an offer 25% sight unseen… I like Scottie but fear you might be right.

At some point we might need to arrange an intervention for your alpha obsession.

ninjacookies 07-12-2025 09:28 PM

His stats have flatlined since his rookie year. Which may sort of be passable if he was also defensive lockdown. But I don't see anything in his game that gives me any indication that he's el jefe. A really good player in a sea of really good players.

Safe to say Klingon's days as portland's chief tactical officer are numbered.

Not even being facetious in saying this is what Houston diehards prayed Shengoon would be.

Also; unsure if Jaylen Wells or Jdub. Not even mid-july and we're already witnessing 2 all-timers in the making.

Can you please clarify this statement? Not sure what you’re saying but I like both these guys so want to participate.

Fell asleep so missed the Griz/Portland game and LP has a blackout on all summer league games, even ones shown live on LP until SL is over so can’t see it.

jcardstore 07-13-2025 11:08 AM

Ninja really taking this thread title seriously lol

Wells and Williams are completely different players and Jalen’s skill level is just so far beyond Wells it’s not even comparable.

Wells future value is a volume scorer type. There’s very little playmaking juice, he’s not some DPOY caliber win defender. He projects out as a pretty decent role player. Like maybe he’s your 3rd or 4th best player on a contender type guy.
