Matt Harvey to the Angels. 1 year, $11 million
What are the Angels thinking ????

Hollywood42 12-18-2018 08:42 PM

Dunno why this is such a big deal. Harvey was actually decent after changing teams last year. Not great by any means, but he had some solid starts

1stBowman 12-18-2018 08:50 PM

Mets have done well so far during the off-season. However, they are not the team to beat in the NL East. There is confidence and there is delusion. Van Wagenen’s comment smacks of the latter. If the Braves back up last year( why wouldn’t they?) they’ll gap the Mets.

The mets are Zach Britton away from being the team to beat. It is amazing that they think they are the team to beat as of right now.

Problems will start once he gets off the plane. That guy in L.A. is a bad thing for so many reasons. Lol

Good thing he is in OC instead. LA is like a 2 hour drive with traffic away lol

Not going to happen. They lost 85 games last year! And that is with the Cy Young winner pitching like no one has done for years. Without him, they would have had 95 losses easy. To think he can repeat last year is silly. Overall, the team had a -31 run diff and even though they have improved, they are not winning the division. I do see them as having a shot at a wild card this year though.
Vomit. Poor Trout. Why can't they put talent around him before he leaves?
Maybe that’s just it. They know he’s leaving and there are too many holes that can’t be fixed in 2 years they are not even going there. Just window dressing.

2014 was their chance. And it’s going to be some time before they get into that position again.

If that's the case they need to cash in on him. Get the biggest return in the history of baseball and start the rebuild.

• Trade talks with the Indians over starter Corey Kluber have continued this week. The Dodgers, Brewers, Phillies and Reds are among the teams interested in Kluber. (Jon Morosi, MLB Network)

• The Giants are close to a deal with ambidextrous reliever Pat Venditte. He posted a 2.57 ERA in 15 appearances with the Dodgers last season. (Alex Pavlovic, NBCS)

Are the makingn him live in the stadium or something?
He will have no problem making bad choices once in so cal, no worries.

I don't think there is a realistic return package that is forgivable in the eyes of the fanbase. And unless Trout himself demands a trade (unlikely, right?), and even then, I just can't see the Angels cashing him in like that.

Sadly I don't see Trout playing for any other team...ever.

Don't worry, they just signed Trevor Cahill.

Anibal Sanchez, 2 years $19 million to the Nationals. Quietly pretty solid last year

As a Braves fan. I'm not sure what to think. He was good for us last year ,but I'm not sure how long that will continue. Suzuki, Adams, and now Sanchez. Nats like their former Braves.

Rosenthal says Rockies close on Daniel Murphy. I think he'd put up some fantastic numbers if he does go to Colorado
