In case you guys didn't see Jason's response on his Facebook page... It's pretty hilarious.

Jason Mars I am not interested at this time. I do thank you for the offer but I do not discuss money or negotiations over a post, . The card is not for sale at this time, a lot has gone on with this card and I feel very disrespect with others opinions and hate mail.yes the. Card has a coa and because I was so disrespected by SOME I feel they don't deserve to knowat this point.I turned out to be right and they was wrong.I don't care and who was right or wrong but its all about how this situation was great d. Call the news day one saying it was fact without them knowing was an attempt just to make me look bad. I don't blame anyone for having there opinion but to call news and be out right nasty was wrong. I understand they want to protect the card industry but it was made personall by calling me a liar and names and not perfessional by waiting for facts.

Jason Mars I cannot consider your offer at this time I don't mean to be sounding rude but this card is just not about the sale. There are other things involved with the card which a PR person is working with me on. I am no rush to have this done and yes the money always sounds great but I would rather go the right way and not to disrespect your offer but the its to low. The card may well be worth the offer cause of condition but I am looking more at the 700,000 to 1 million dollar range but even offered that because of other things in the work I would decline. I have other offers just beside the card but thank you for your interest
So he is having an online/facebook conversation with himself?

Ehrmagerd! Erm a perfessional!

I just unearthed a previously unknown back as well.

And yes, I've been told by 3 wise men and one dumb guy...plus it's got a COA.

It's just like people can't get over the "fact" that I'm Baldur, god of light and son of Odin. They just can't handle it and try to make me look bad.

Oh wait, prove it you say? I have a paper expert who says I'm a god. I also have a COA. What more proof do you need?
Jason Mars Justin let me tell this if that card is true its super rare!! People say send it in! I guarantee the wouldnt send a card with this magnitude through the mail trust me...there is no!!! Way they would send it in by mail...they say that's because its not there card...and if you have tested the card as you said then your good....it doesn't matter how long we have collected cards or even other experts seen it and held out we will still be wrong...hmmm some one who has a few years experience and hasnt held or tested the card but there right??? What s joke! Obviously I have collected cards for 30 plus years and you have collecting experience we sure in the hell know the difference from a reprint or sandwiched card..my card has had 2 experts verify it..and Iptint company verified ink printing oh wait the print expert put it under examination and he is wrong lol...its a joke 2 experts... print expert who verified ink and printing but there wrong...its to funny...but these others who make comments never held or tested the card....as for PSA they do a fairly good job but check your cards they make mistakes. A McGee card graded by PSA as authentic and slabbed then a few months later the owner decided to examine his card and because of his research he found out it was fake!!! Good job PSA. On top of that in 1984 I personally got a card signed by George Brett and has been in my possession since...decided to send it into PSA to get it slabbed and what I got back was a card that the autograph wasn't real....really experts!!!!! Soyoi really think I would trust my card in the mail and on top of that who grades the cards at psa??? Does the person have a years experience or 2 or 10?? PSA doesn't get paid to research cards...remember they are just like any other company...they pay there employees and the faster they do cards the bigger the profits. Hmmm maybe that's why I seemed out true experts and that's why I didn't foot the bill...would you send a million dollar card through the mail?????? Nope not one them that say send it through the mail would!

A little preview from the Facebook for you folks...

jbrandonw 11-19-2014 04:39 AM

If he was so certain he was holding a million dollar card he would make the trip to psa (or whatever grading company he trusts) himself.

Prequel) Said he saw a Paper Expert, a Lithograph Expert, and a pawn shop owner. All certified it as legit. Californian paper expert offered him 50K, said he was 99% Positive.
1) He Said SGC had the card. SGC Confirmed they graded it. When questioned by a forum member they specifically said 'Oh yeah, that card. It's a bad fake.' Mars has since removed all posts regarding sending it to SGC.
2) He can't afford it.
3) PSA has demanded he send it through the mail. 'It can't be done any other way.)
4) PSA Will charge him something like $1,000 to authenticate it.
5) A company offered to pick up all the costs, but he turned it down.
6) He said he'd use GMA.
7) He quickly did an about face on that statement.
8) He claims to have a COA. Won't produce. Due to 'Stupid Talk.'

I - KNOW - I'm missing some things in that timeline.... But that's the circle he's taken everyone in.

dr_mccarthy 11-19-2014 10:36 AM

He completely lost it on Facebook last night. I can't believe this is still ongoing. I thought for sure he would have given up by now or people would have completely lost interest.

I tried, but somehow I just can't lose interest. Guess in part it's due to the fact that I could probably drive to his house in 10 minutes.

Time does not equal expertise. Presumably he's spoken, written, and read English for well over 30 years. He is certainly not an expert.

Yet oddly, he bought it on eBay and it arrived though the mail. The original owner, who knew the card's provenance intimately, was perfectly fine shipping it through the good old USPS.

One could go on all day. This guy is just flailing around now. It was fun for a while but now it's getting rather pathetic and even a bit scary.

Its pretty amazing how much Mars is spending on this card and everything for being out of work etc .....

I don't think he is spending anything other than time on this card...

As for him being out of work, who knows the truth, I think the original story claimed he was out of work but he claimed to be at work when someone from this thread asked him for photos.

The doctors are allowing him to play out the delusion of being at work.

base set 11-19-2014 01:33 PM

I don't think he understands the reach of Social Media, nor the history of this card and the actual supply of it in the world. He could have made a $10 profit flipping a faked Jordan rookie perhaps, but he clearly has no grasp of the realities of ultra high-end collectibles, or that doubling down all the time just digs a deeper hole. He's not the only person who has purchased one of these cards, he's just the only one that appeared on TV for doing so.

Screamer 11-19-2014 01:45 PM

What a loser and scumbag

85GoCards 11-19-2014 01:47 PM

Just out of curiosity, has anyone reached out to the original seller to get their input on it being a reprint? Obviously reprint was mentioned in the eBay listing, but I don't remember if the seller has provided an "official" response to anyone?

I agree that I think it's borderline scary at this point and I can't help but see how it plays out. I'm also not sure how much more of the TERRIBLE grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc I can take without stabbing myself in the eyes.

Lol, wow. Had the seller just responded honestly, this whole deal would have ended a month and a half ago.

It's just baffling how people can be sooo clueless. I'm waiting for the halfhearted, "Ha, I got you guys. I knew it was fake and was just playing a joke on everyone."

or in Mars-speak.

"H!!! Crds not real one...that is real and not frm reprints! Stoopid talks and everybodys haetful was just them makin themselves stoopid. I was a kiding guy from the beginin of the start."

Ive kept up with this thread as long as I could, and im still very confused. And yet, this thread has enough potential to surpass many of the greatest blowout threads ever! By the way, in the bolded part, isnt Mars really just describing himself?
