First off, the Celtics didn't lose on purpose. I could never imagine a team deciding to just lose a playoff game let alone in the finals to win the next game at home.
Also, mostly unrelated but interesting that the Oilers won 8-1 tonight after being down 3-0 in the Stanley Cups finals. That's a pretty huge blowout by hockey standards so just interesting to have the day after the Mavs did the same thing.
I remember that 'strategy' coming up on one of the awful talking head ESPN shows. I think it was Heat/Spurs when one of the clowns said the Spurs should tank Game 6 up 3-2 so they can be healthier for Game 7. Came up again in the last few years by Mike Greenburg I think. Just an all time stupid take |

Draisaitl (Oilers version of Kyrie) was nonexistent most of first 3. Both came to life tonight. Almost expect whatever happens with the road team Monday will also Tuesday but very cool parallels! |
Boston literally came back from 0-3 last year against the Heatles. Only to eventually lose game 7 back on their home floor (when everyone had them pegged to close out).
There's a reason why it's never been done in history. And it won't happen this year either. Though a game 6 is certainly feasible. |
I will say otherwise..let them win is such bullcrap. Yeah they probably win it on Monday but no matter what you say...they didn't just let them win so they can win at home..
As a Celtics fan im going to say,i do not think they lost on purpose, they just thought the mavs would give up.but i can understand guys saying they threw the game.in effect they did, just not for the reason people are saying.they just didn't show up mentally. |

This is correct. No one willingly throws a game, but Boston was not physically nor mentally ready for when the Mavs actually came out swinging. Once Dallas had a double-digit lead and Boston tried to unsuccessfully (and lazily) shoot their way back into the game and it didn't work, they folded. This game was over in the second quarter. No, Boston didn't throw the game, but they gave up trying to win before half. No way on God's green earth that Boston loses to Dallas by 40 unless they're up 3-0 in the series. I'll eat my words if Dallas destroys them again like that, but I'm not expecting it. |

There is also reason why back to back victories are so difficult in playoffs. Celtics in 5. |
Celtics in 5. Cue the duckboats!
Bump. |
Celtics in 5 was an awful prediction.
This would be more funny if Dallas was up 3-1. Celtics in 5. |
Not happening.
Then Luka bag holders will be sad.
Maybe Luka Bag Holders will be sad. Luka fans and collectors will be happy he was able to take a 5 seeded Mavs team this far. |
Nah Luka Bag Holders are glad Luka was able to a 5 seeded Mavs team this far.
Another season of Luka getting older and no championship. Going to be Charles Barkley, but worse. |

We'll see..I don't know what the future holds. Won't take away from a great season though! |

Even those holdings bags (are there any?) Will probably not care. Plus another season of buying at normal prices. Or even less. Luka will own this league at some stage. |

It took Jordan 7 years. It took Lebron 9 years. Luka is running out of time. Wemby is on his tail. |

Though I can't help but like the 6 and a half points they're giving the Mavs. Think it's probably going to be close. Parlayed with u211.5 alt. Hesi not even in my vernacular. |
They better close it out tomorrow. I didn’t pay for tickets to see them lose haha

Or even worse, Jordan could have been a Lebron or a Luka! |
