Has anyone found any at target??
|
If there is so much available then why is Blowout paying 2x MSRP in an effort to secure some? I use DealerNet for my info because that is the most accurate indicator of true market value. Right now there are over a dozen dealers offering 2x MSRP to buy product. They wouldnt need to pay those prices if they were able to get all they wanted from their distributors. So until you can solve the riddle of WHERE all of this product is, then you are just as ignorant to basketball product. If you want to know the truth about product availability, find out what BO, SCC, D&A, Layton, Chicagoland, etc. are doing. When the big boys are all competing and outbidding each other for product at 2x MSRP, that is the surest sign of all that it isnt mass produced.
I remember the days of Sportsnet back in the 1990s. Dial up only lol The list of BIG players was much more extensive back then. The case/unopened market was crazy hot. 2-3 card shops in every town. |
Someone on the big Prizm sister site that is the catch all for all other Panini releases said Panini sent out an email apologizing for the early release. I find that hard to believe.

Check 2 - Found None

Checked today at target after opening, no sign of any. (Washington St)

I live in CT. Pretty sure no mosaic boxes have hit CT yet.

Caught the rep at WM today and no Mosaic

It's starting to feel like most Walmart's have an inside person. All the Walmarts in my area, including some in very rural areas, were cleaned out. The labels were out but no cardboard holders were left. I think with how hot this stuff has gotten, it's going to be harder and harder for folks to land some. I've bought some hanger boxes for roughly $40 and some mega boxes for $105 just to hold for now and see what happens. Sucks, but it is what it is.

I know in my area, people have the MJH rep's schedule down to a science. |

Things are crazy... Even with Luka's prizm year I could go into walmart/target and find a small restock or a couple boxes just to open personally. I don't even see a hint of any hot product these days... no optic, prizm, or mosiac. |
Just opened another mega box that I had of this stuff... No wonder this stuff is so sought after! All from 1 mega box.. I was in shock.

Nice box. Exactly why I think some are not valuing this correctly.

Of course there is backdooring happening with MJH employees. I've seent it with my own eyeballs on Optic. The wench who was stocking literally pulled out a tray of Optic from the MJH box and said it was already claimed and walked away with it. |
I live east of atlanta and have never seen prizm, optic or certainly not mosaic from this year. Didnt see one Prizm or optic last year either. How possible is it that the shelf stickers here either dont ever stock it, or they have a heads up notice arranged with a buyer. It's just ridiculous that you can never find basketball cards at target or walmart around here.
I believe it. At Target, the employees remove things from the shelf here at stocking day and buy it later when they get off or call a friend to come get it. The rep even said it happens. I happened to be there the one day and they didn't have a chance at the Optic she had. That was all I ever got of Optic from there. The rep is required to take a picture of the display though apparently. After that it's all game. |

Checked my Walmart on Saturday. New stuff had been stocked, definitely holes on the shelf, but no sign of Mosaic. Don't think the stickers were there either. |

What sister site? |
I think the days of the average person trying to walk in to Walmart or Target and buy basketball cards at SRP are over. There is just too much money in the hobby right now to have any sort of reasonable expectation that any of the new products are sitting on the shelves longer than a few minutes or maybe a few hours. And that is even if they hit the shelves at all. We’ll see what happens next season, but even with a weaker rookie class I think we can still expect most products to fly off the shelves, because there will still be LeBron, Luka, Zion, etc. that will have big cards in each product, which will inevitably sell for big bucks.
|
I dont know why panini wastes their time with target and walmart. Direct to buyer would help get products into the hands of more people. I get buying every product you can find off the shelf if it's there, as given the demand I'd probably do it to, but very few people ever get product anymore. Really stinks for the non-investor collector. At least online they could limit quantity somewhat.
