Nothing more frustrating than making some decent money after flipping and you can’t even spend it on a card you like.
Ebay, Myslab and even IG is just dry on some nice Kobe’s. |

yea thats what I thought I didn't see that he wrote that in his post 97 finest jordan and 03 secret weapons lebron seem to have these always thought they weren't desirable but still a sweet kobe also side rant - can't stand all these sellers listing "great investment" on their kobe auto listings |

I busted a couple of boxes a few years back and just having another look, out of 5 I may not even get a PSA 9. We'll see. Very tough grade. |

I agree 100%, totally worth it Grew up with Kobe, no doubt my MJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
This run up on his Topps rookie right now is absolutely crazy. On December 14th I sold a PSA 10 for $2500. Had it listed as BIN at that price the entire time and it finally solid after about 5-6 days. Here we are 3 weeks later and every sale I'm seeing for the same exact card is over $4500. I know the hobby is exploding and Kobe stuff was undervalued but I'd personally advise at least a little bit of caution when a $2500 card doubles in price within 3 weeks for no apparent reason.

Then I watched Kobe enter the league and dominate. As for LeBron I never really liked him but I can totally see how the next generation looks at him as their MJ |

it rises as soon as it drops though haha. i got 2 9s and 10 back in august when these things were scorching. i got i think 1125 and 1350 for the 9s, and 4700 for my 10. They were going for around 5200 at the time but the buyer who i could tell was an investorboiii asked if i'd take 4700, because sure, i knew in a few weeks time theyd be 3k or less...and they were. he tried to return it a few days after he got it but used the return reason "he changed his mind" i won and that was that. crazy to see they are back up again this high. I have 9 of them at psa and hoping they are returned soon. |

I was thinking (as the rest of us) that prices would jump at his HOF introduction and of course when that doc comes out. what totally has never been mentioned and hit me about a week ago is that his 1 year anniversary is coming up this month which would explain the rise in prices. Just a few short months ago his Stardate PSA 9 sold for 1550, this week it sold for 2900! |

New crop of collectors probably explains this? Shiny and pretty. Don’t make sense to me either. I’m quite sure collectors coming from that era would take the RC over insert, 24/7. |
I think Topps is a well known brand ... e-x2000 although its Skybox is (I think) much less known to the as you say investor boiz

If Bitcoin can be 38K a Kobe Topps rookie can be 5K lol

ah i think i misquoted or mis read his. I think the stardate is gorgeous though i never had his rookie year one. I meant the e-x2000 over the topps regular base rookie for me is a no brainer, granted 9's and 10's of the e-x blow topps out of the water, but its so much more limited. i guess im saying if you had a raw topps and a raw e-x2000 it should imo be e-x by a mile and they're pretty much the same raw. |

yeah thats probably the reason actually, i do realize topps is a flagship product and it has the legacy, but cmon look at the cards side by side and try not to laugh that raw they are equal price. |
I think the star date has far better eye appeal. In fact it may be Kobe’s best looking card. Period.
There seems to be a clash with traditional rc vs insert and rarity vs demand. A TON of new collectors and new $ is flooding into the hobby with mj and Kobe leading the way. I see a shift toward demand for cards that are just #@#@#@#@ing cool looking. Star date is just that. |
If it's legit, a couple BINs on PWCC's vault went for new highs.
$7,500 for a PSA 10 Ultra Rising Stars and $12,500 for a Series Two PSA 10 Ultra Platinum. |

I paid a pretty handsome sum to get a PSA 9, but I had to have it for the collection. |
