Which one is the genesis? there are so many parallels in this stuff
No, lets just go back to the packs being all base with one sticker per.
I'm picking up sarcasm, although you may be serious? Either way, I wouldn't advocate for that at all, but we have come WAY too far to the other extreme.

Panini is truly brilliant though, their ability to maximize profits is a sight to behold.
Haha you nailed it this product is the same every year and especially bad this year imo the only remotely decent looking ones are the silver ones with none of the small swirly circles? Honestly I dont even know what they are called since it's the most confusing product in basketball.
Yeah, and this isnt even to mention that this set does look like Spectra as a few have mentioned, which I'm sure will also be released later this year. And I'm sure there's more Mosaic coming. Every product has multiple pointless forms now. I'm gonna hold off for FOTL Mosaic Choice Retail Hybrid Mosaic Premium Edition.

I mean at the end of the day, this just results in more designs and cards, which in a way is great for collectors. I think those Jam Masters inserts look incredible. But there's just no more innovation on Panini's part. They've taken the same 2 product themes and repeat them 10 times each per year with slightly different twists. Then repeat every year.

Maybe I'm just a bitter old man at heart, who knows.

Any sign of this yet in California?

derder 04-25-2020 09:12 AM

too many posts to read through... am i the only one who thinks this looks ugly?

i've yet to see a photo that makes me feel otherwise. the colors are all awkward and the design is weak

Nice lady @MJ Holding swore California is NOT getting Mosaic.

TraderJake 04-25-2020 09:20 AM

so will the NBA Debut cards be as much of a red headed step child as Rookie Debuts in Topps Update or something a little closer to the standard RCS?

Showtime33 04-25-2020 09:25 AM

Ran into an mj holding lady this morning. Didn’t have mosaic. She was putting out prizm draft picks football so im guessing that Walmart is behind schedule cause i believe that released a couple of weeks or a week ago

Brobocop 04-25-2020 09:31 AM

Pretty sure someone on the east side of Cleveland has the hookup. Went to a few Walmarts and nada. Each one had the stickers though.

i agree.

most of the product this year has been ugly. i think a lot of people in this thread are just excited to be finding new basketball product on the shelves.

As someone who has opened a good bit of retail Prizm, Optic and now Mosaic...I think Mosaic is the best product and certainly the most fun to open.

That is *my opinion*, and I understand others disagree. I didn't like optic at all - what a meh product. Mosaic, IMO, is clearly the better product. However, Mosaic doesn't have a full year+ of opticboi pumping.

Overall, this product is awesome IMO. Nice design, great insert sets, etc.
Really enjoyed opening some retail.

I'm not sure what you are seeing in this product it looks like a hot mess and honestly looks like some asian knock off generic product to me?

I think Optic blew it out of the park this year with the inserts. Lots of great insert sets, in my opinion. But I was underwhelmed by the base and parallels.

I haven't seen any Mosaic cards in person, so I'll reserve judgment. My initial reaction to what I'm seeing, however, is that it's jut a little TOO colorful that it's gimmicky and a bit childish. I feel that way about most Panini color products, though. Panini focused too much on creating new mosaic-specific parallels when they should've spent time working on actually creating a well designed card.

suknives 04-25-2020 10:28 AM

Just to clarify - nobody's seen these anywhere besides Walmart yet, right?

IMO the parallels look really nice in person. Base cards are not the best. They could’ve done away with the nba debut imo. Regardless of what we think this will sell out everywhere just like optic and prizm and chronicles when that one comes out.

Walmart or Meijer if you’re a state in the midwest. The company who stocks target didn’t receive any pre corona lockdown. Mj holding did and thus why it’s been found at Walmart and Meijer.

Everything in my area is now empty displays. There were so many people camping out in card aisles or neighboring aisles just waiting for MJ holding. I happened to get lucky at a single Meijer and that’s it.

It’s a totally different game these days. These people know the schedules to the minute or at least the hour and they wait it out and then it’s on to the next store or they call their buddy who is waiting at the next store and say “rep is coming your way, I’ll get to the next store, and then you take the other store after that” (here in West Michigan, there’s 3 Walmart’s and about 15 or so Meijer’s that you can get to all within a 30-45 minute drive)

And yes, that’s literally a phone call I overheard yesterday.

Oh yeah for sure will sell out. I for one am just fatigued with all these repetitive products. Prizm, Optic, select, and Mosaic all look the same, more or less.

When I was in living CO for Prizm and Optic release, I was that guy who got to the stores and scooped everything up (never followed reps or anything, just got lucky I guess) - but out here in WI, there's another guy who's apparently friends with the MJ rep and clears the shelves before literally anyone has a chance. It's unfortunate, but I get it.

None in Atlanta but I just saw empty collegiate football trays yesterday and none the day before. Looks like we are always about a week or so behind

ccssports713 04-25-2020 10:54 AM

I live in a rural area that has never been wiped out of any product on release. I have seen and bought all releases to this point. I left a ton of Prizm on the shelf 2 times (mistake obviously) and bought most of the Optic when it was stocked. Usually afternoon runs. Yesterday walked into Walmart around lunch time and all Mosaic was wiped out. I guess with everybody not working and bored this will make it near impossible to find on the shelves.

My buddy from the next town over found some at his walmart and asked if I wanted to split. So, I was able to get a few boxes which was great.
