Warriors aren't doing anything in the playoffs. Not sure what people are seeing. Steph is one of the all-time greats, but that roster is bad. They are going to lose to LA, beat whoever comes out of the SAS/MEM game, then lose in 5 to Utah (as long as Mitchell plays).
They’ve been playing better of late. Obviously nowhere near the team of the past but they’ve been playing cohesive ball the last few weeks. I think Utah beats the Warriors but if they sneak by the lakers they match up pretty well with Phoenix. Then they’d play the Murray less Nuggets or Blazers. It’s not far fetched to say they could meet up in conference finals. That being said they wouldn’t beat the Lakers 4 times. |
I think it’s hilarious that everyone is counting out the Warriors in the 7/8 game. Everyone talking about match ups and what’s going to happen lol. It’s one game. Lakers start cold and golden state starts hot it could easily be a blowout for the warriors. Would I take golden state in a 7 game series against LA? Probably not haha but one game is one game. There is a reason why teams don’t want to be in the play in, easy to lose. Same reason why the league switched the first round from 5 to 7, more games the better team almost always wins out. One game, anything is possible. It will be fun to watch though.
Been a few years since the raptors missed the playoffs so I guess I’ll be rooting for the blazers and norm. Hopefully blazers fans get to see playoff powell |

Regardless what they did in the regular season. |

I agree they've been playing better as of late, and like I said, Steph has been amazing, but outside of him, they are just too easy to stop and defensively, they're going to get eaten alive. I understand the "it's one game" aspect, but the Lakers are just a much better team than GS. The Warriors had to play their best ball to get to the #8 seed.... Lakers had to lose their 2 best players for extended periods of time to fall to #7. With lebron/AD back (even at 75%), I think they'll handle them just fine. If lebron or AD go down early, then I give them a shot. Regardless, I don't see GS beating anyone in the West in a best of 7. |

They should be. But you’re right. Why talk about the obvious? Next topic. |
Yeah, yeah.
One game. Anything can happen, etc etc. No one's going to put their hard earned money on GS to win though. |

Didn't see any Playoff threads so I will ask here...
Anyone know when the schedule is being released or are they waiting for the play-in games to be completed? You would think with the first round starting on Saturday that they would have let the teams know what day/time they are playing. Though the NBA will probably be catering to the Lakers should they advance from the play in to make sure they are a primetime game on Saturday or Sunday. |

But 20 minutes ago, the NBA set out the dates for the first games of each series. (No times). Thursday, the full schedule should be released.
Exactly why they didn't win last year against the Lakers, Murray plays no defense and is too small, goes on hot and cold streaks and is definitely a ball hog. How you don't see that Murray is a ball hog/hero ball player leads me to believe you don't watch much Nuggets games, when Murray went down they played much better team ball and kept winning the only reason they are currently in a slump is many of their starters are injured. Maybe last year against the "no heart" Clippers Murray came up big but after that.....nope, streaky player and definitely won't be the same when he comes back and that's even if the Nuggets don't replace him in the rotation and eventually trade him.
MPJ is better than Murray? Ok :coffee: |
So, for anybody who cares, here's my post-mortem on the Warriors.....
What happened in the play-in rounds? Pretty simple....they ran out of gas. People forget that they were down to eight healthy players for pretty much the entire last month of the season, only one of whom was over 6-7 (Looney at 6-9), and three of those players (Poole, Toscano-Anderson, and Mulder) weren't even in the rotation when the season started. They were playing with only three players who could create their own shot (Curry, Wiggins, & Poole), three players whose offense is limited to catch & shoot 3's (JTA, Bazemore, Mulder), and two offensive black holes (Green & Looney). Note that they only scored 100 against the Lakers, and 99 in regulation against Memphis. Meanwhile, you had an entire second unit's worth out injured (Oubre, Wiseman, Paschall, Damion Lee), and of course Klay. So to finish 39-33, even though Curry missed seven games, was a pretty good achievement. Moving forward, if everyone is healthy in 21-22, you've got two pretty decent units, even without Oubre (or whomever they trade him for) or the 1st round draft pick(s). 1st Unit = Curry, Klay, Green, Wiggins, Looney 2nd Unit = Wiseman, JTA, Bazemore, Lee, Poole Given that they were on pace for 48 wins this year over a full season, you gotta think that with Klay coming back and Poole in the lineup for the entire season, they're a 55-60 win team next year. |
So many overreactions here on the Murray injury.
He is great in a bubble (literally and figuratively) but this team can still win and be a top 4 seed without him They will likely miss his scoring in the playoffs when you need a big bucket or a guy to go on a run, but saying this team is toast without him is just silly
delete |

They were in 6th or 7th when I posted this on 4/13 |
