Hello everyone. I became a bit obsessed with Soto when I saw him play in 2019. I am a big tennis player and for whatever reason, he reminds me of Rafael Nadal.

This is a good comp. Nadal never takes a point off and Soto never takes an at bat off. Both always give it their all.

Indeed. That’s a big pickup.

I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s also something kinda off-register about it. Maybe because it wasn’t expected? Maybe because it’s only part of the solution, and they still need a right-handed power bat? (Bell is a switch-hitter, but he’s not so good from the right side.)

Either way, the Chosen Juan will be just fine.

Came to see how excited the thread was about the completely random Josh Bell news. With no regard to actual stats or trends in his career, and only focused on leaving non-competitive Pirates to, at least have a chance to have your performance matter; I think Bell rebounds his career big time. Maybe not exactly hobby-relevant, but enough to protect Juan.

I pulled a Juan Soto Bowmans Best Power Producers Superfractor today, my first Bowman super in 12 years.

One thing I keep forgetting to bring up here in this thread and never have the time before today when I do remember... Like some of you I’m sure, I play the show.

Juan Soto’s 2020 MLB theShow finest series character (the card of which is the picture here) has the most community home runs in the entire game in 2020 per the official mlb theshow20 account on Facebook (Also it’s a newly arrived (November) character on a game running since March, which makes the feat even more impressive).

-Who cares, video game nonsense.
It is the same video game that is used constantly to simulate seasons and series and all of that though, and it’s a huge sample size of experiment.

So to me; that’s really interesting and perhaps prophetic. If the maker (sandiego studios) is biased towards anyone, it’s pro-Padres like Tatis and Machado. Also the great ghosts like Ruth and Cobb and Wagner and Mantle and Ted Williams are definitely made to rake. And all of the characters are made at least from the perspective of what they excel at from any single time. So this “finest card” is a hypothetical; what if... best of Soto. He doesn’t have the best attributes in the game. There’s even a character of Randy A from this past postseason with stats to match his crazy performance, and he nor anyone... is Juan of Juan. And even beyond all the hypebole... if nothing else of this actually matters, still, Soto is building a large fanbase beyond DC which does matter to everyone often checking here, like me!

One of my favorite Sotos.
I eventually want to collect the entire 2018 Brooklyn Collection portrait autos in the base white frame because the images are so stunning, but have got looooong way to go to accomplish that goal.
