Pretty late on this, but felt compelled to respond. The fact that they were the only officially licensed NBA cards between 83-85 makes it stretch to consider Star Co “novelty cards”. While I would also have preferred if these had been randomly inserted into packs- the limited print runs and low level distribution doesn’t take away from the appeal of these sets, personally it adds more to them. It was the early 80’s; the NBA was in the shitter and the Star company seems like a somewhat accurate reflection of the league at the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
