Also forgot to mention the Foden and Davies parallels are seeing some action as well.

Donruss was fun while it lasted going under the radar.. Most breakers have raised prices so high it makes it not a good bet in most cases. England went from around $60 to $140 so you'd have to hit at least a Sancho silver and still doesn't break even as those are around $100.

Chamax is the only breaker I've found that isn't still charging high prices for teams but that is probably because no one really uses them for soccer.

Does anyone have any cases in stock to sell? I busted a few and it was a ton of fun. I see a few boxes online but no sealed cases for sale...

Anyone have any insight on when there will be a premium release of Giovanni Reyna? (Something that isn’t Topps Now) Very interested in this kid’s potential!

Did you bust a couple cases for yourself or breaking for others? I'm curious about the economics of a case break of Donruss and how loaded a product it is in terms of case hits and resell. If you have any insights, would love to hear them. Like you may have read in another thread, I was saying that over 900 boxes (75+ cases) are still sitting in some of the big China card shops. I don't know if it was Panini over allocating to the China market or the card shops just buying way too much, but over a year later and its just sitting. I have tracked the sales over the week and they haven't sold a single box.

If I could make the economics work and find a cheap way to ship, I would love to try and hold group breaks of this product and ship to you guys who just want more of this product stateside.

I opened 2 cases for just fun (with my kids to pass the time). Each had a 1/1 in it and a ton of color and low #'s. I hit the Kai 1/1 rated rookie and Sancho /10 Explosive (~ 6 cards #'d under 10)

I would be open to some bust more, it's a ton of fun (or jump in a reasonably priced break)

Thanks,

Adam

The challenge in making soccer cards more relevant and more in demand is not so much being concerned if soccer will ever be viewed on the same level as the so called major sports. It's developing communication with soccer fans worldwide, and more specifically in Asia. European fans tend to collect soccer cards and stickers as a hobby, and more oriented toward their favorite clubs, like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, etc. The Asian fans, while just as fanatic about following their favorite clubs and players, are more likely to be interested in looking at soccer cards as potential investments. Once we can figure out how to optimize communication, selling venues (like eBay), and shipping issues, the value of soccer cards will greatly increase, due to pent up demand.

Thought I would share these with you guys:

Went Pulisic RC hunting with two boxes of 16-17 Select. Didn’t land any Pulisic but did hit these two beauties:

Messi Green /5 and Isco Patch Auto Green /5 :)

Sorry for the blurry pics, but they are screenshots that I cropped off the live break. Second Auto was a Green /5 also, but it was Theo Walcott.

Only one breaker that is close to me and that I trust, but yes.

Messi/CR7 low numbered parallels are starting to get some love, especially colored Chrome refractors and colored serial # Prizm WC parallels. I know there are some naysayers, but they won’t be undervalued forever.

Blowout just put up more boxes at 170+
Crazy how it’s jumped!

Akphillips86 04-04-2020 07:37 AM

The soccer market seems to be immune to the virus. Prices have done nothing but climb. But, then again, it was dramatically undervalued. Hope everyone is well in these strange times [emoji106]

$175 a box for 18/19 Donruss???

If you were debating on jumping into cheap soccer breaks...that ship has sailed :coffee:

Right now I'm more focused on the rookie and early releases of Messi & Ronaldo. I'm amazed at how much prices have gone up (sold items) on eBay since January. I'm also interested in vintage Pele, but many of his best rookie and early cards from '58-'59 are tough to find, and virtually impossible in higher grades.

They are smart. Let the boxes and cases sit until it dries up and then start to sell these.

I can't wait for Topps Chrome Bundesliga. Going to be exceptional
