Lebron never played with Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins.
Come on man, Lebrons best teammate was deladova and they took two games from the warriors in the finals. |
I believe I had Brooklyn pegged as the 2nd or 3rd seed in the east in the preseason prediction thread.
However, let's not overreact just yet. Just as the Pels role players looked like the Splash Bros game 1....the big 2 of the Nets will have their off nights. Strong showing today though. Levert and Spencer are no joke.
They’re a 1 or 2 seed without question, and the 2 is only dependent on how KD/Kyrie are load managed. I know they’re 2 of the most disliked players in the league, but they’re also 2 of the best. The only teams that can compete are the Lakers/Bucks/Clippers. Everybody else gets washed in a series. This is exactly why teams like Boston/Miami/Toronto need to hurry up and snag Harden. He’s the only one sans Giannis and Jimmy who plays at that level. Miami without Harden drops in 5 games to the Nets. With Harden, a team like that has a shot. |
finney smith was about to pass to wide open luka for a 3 but then was like, nah this dude ain't good hitting his 3's, nevermind.

Lebron just air ball a free throw? Washed king

The biggest thing in a 7 game series is having a minimum of two all-nba calliber talents with high floors to be a legit contender. I love Miami and their scrappy style of play, but I just can't see BA or Herro being that consistent source of offensive production to match Butler night in and night out. Boston I'm still torn on. Tatum is a beast, but I don't think Brown is there yet...and Kemba is his typical Charlotte hot-or-cold self. The only thing keeping the Bucks afloat is Giannis being a top 3 player on both sides of the ball. Because Middleton and Jrue are not world stoppers. I do fear they could be one of the teams to suffer the biggest drop off in the standings any one of these years, but they've been such a strong group defensively. |

and then drained a tough step back three. I'll take it.:)! |
Jalen Brunson is terrible leave that guy on the bench

The other East squads have legit players. I’m not taking anything away from guys like Tatum, Lowry, Siakam, Butler, BAM, Ben, or Embiid. Those are All-NBA talent guys. Giannis and KD are on another level. Kyrie is the best PG in the East. There’s levels to basketball, and you’re just hard pressed to compete with a team like the Nets. Levert starts at SG on most NBA teams. Dinwiddie lead this team to an almost .500 record last season. Joe Harris led the league in 3 point percentage last season. The Nets are on a level very few teams are when healthy with their personnel. I know people despise Harden, but I’d love to see a series with him, Jimmy, and BAM running against the Nets. It would be an amazing contest. |
Draymond can help with #2 but without fixing the #1 with an at least decent presence, not even MJ and Kareem would make this team a contender.
Maybe not, but they can at least average 30+ points with high FG% and help out on the defense. |
I feel very suspect on the Mavs. It's very much the Luka show and that's not great. He's transcendent but its basically a much better version of the Hawks last year. Luka will get 30 but I don't see them contending. He badly needs a secondary scorer.

At the end of the day, it's a 7 game series and they have two top 5 players. Similar deal with Brooklyn; Kyrie is not AD but their supporting cast looks great. |

Fight or flight. It's a tough spot for a team like Miami. On one hand, you have to think about the ultimately small window of winning with current roster construction and the landscape of the ever-improving East. On the other, Harden's going to gut your pockets. I'd take him 7 times out of 7 and thrice on Sundays though. I don't think GM's necessarily operate on BO's '3rd rate player/follicle scumbag' premise. AD essentially forced his hand into a trade to the purple and gold...now he's a world champ. Nobody remembers that. Hindsight tends to work selectively. |
Harden doesn’t fit Miami’s culture.
Club Pink would beg to differ. In all seriousness, 'culture' is an overblown term. Butler wasn't exactly the most selfless offensive dude before heading to Miami. Tatum isn't exactly a regular-degular off ball rotational shooter. If you can secure a super alpha, more than likely you secure him. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. I don't think there's any second guessing if Harden puts it all on the floor when he's actually on it. But like many others before him, the league is structured favorably towards stars brute forcing their way into new destinations via unconventional methods. It's sad, but that's just the reality of things. It's nothing new. |
Probably editing all of his posts. Thankfully, we were shamed for quoting it for later.
you’re going to keep this energy when the injury bug bites the Nets? kyrie isn’t exactly iron man and KD is 32 coming off a torn achilles. that along with Kyrie’s disruptive behavior when things don’t go his way are reason for doubts. It’s game 2/72. relax |

He's immensely talented, but still raw...and just scratching the surface...as scary as that sounds. Harden Jimmy and Bam is a helluva big 3, and expands your offensive flexibility, while still retaining 2 great on-ball defenders. Beard wouldn't want out of Houston if he was a stat padder that could care less about a ring. Quite the contrary. |
