I once used a handgun at a range, perhaps 20 years ago and did not enjoy it, not for me. I think I flinched nearly every time I pulled the trigger. For those who are trained and use & carry for their job, I appreciate you.
To the person who feels the need to walk into the local pizza joint with a pistol on their hip and wife & kids in tow, I laugh at you.
I see nothing wrong with a father wanting to protect his wife and children. Who else is going to protect them?

M240 bravo and 50 cal gunner in Iraq. Did convoy security for 18 of 27 months I was deployed.

Conceal carry glock 43x when I can. Try to shoot monthly to stay sharp.

Maybe that father and husband is trained. There is nothing wrong with people wanting to protect themselves and family. I would never open carry, as I believe that would make you an automatic first target in a mass shooting situation. Conceal carry is the way to go.

IMO, odds are the random tough guy isn’t protecting anyone, isn’t trained and is compensating.

Do "fists of fury" count?

Any competent person employee charged with making the pizza crusts at such an establishment is able to hurl dough balls at nearly 100mph (and even faster if the dough has been adequately proofed) with remarkable accuracy. They can, and will, protect you and your loved ones from danger should it become necessary, and afterward, their weapon of choice can be fashioned into a platter of delicious garlic knots.

And you nailed it, my comment to the guy showing his open carry manhood.

BostonNut 08-31-2024 04:09 PM

I’ve been in the general geographic vicinity of an FT destroyer.

Does that count?

Well done! I like it! :)
I like it when the bottom fella opens his mouth towards the end of the GIF so as to emit a primal scream of joyful release.

As a Vietnam era vet, yes, I have carried....but never had to fire with lethal intent.

You seem to think everyone that open carries is a wanna be tough guy. I think that’s the issue here. Just your assumptions. I conceal carry but nothing wrong with a father wanting to protect his family. Police aren’t going to be there in that moment.

Mr. Top offering words of encouragement is priceless! That might be my new favorite gif.

Get some, fellas!!! :)

JustRachel 08-31-2024 04:40 PM

I'm guessing the guys saying they're in favor of carrying to protect their families are the same guys who won't enable crash detection on their phones.
