So that's what a fake psa label looks like.
I would not attack the seller and assume they are trying to scam people. From their other listings and selling history, this person does not deal with cards. It looks like they sell second hand goods and could have bought this from someone else to sell. Or they got ripped off themselves. The bidder running up the price could have done this because they are selling a Hank RC as well.

Someone who has absolutely no history of selling cards and has good feedback like this seller should not be attacked. I would nicely send them a message stating that this card is a fake and give them the evidence posted on the forums. This seller is most likely trying to scam anyone. They may have been the one scammed in the past.
Did you kindly write the seller and tell him he is selling an obvious fake, and if so, has he gotten back to you yet, or would you rather say nothing for fear of upsetting him?
The card is now up over $3,000, which, as you should know, is not chump change, and has the potential of making an uneducated, newbie to the hobby buyer very upset someday when he goes to try and sell it again thinking the funds/ROI he has amassed all these years is all for not.

I've written the seller twice now, and was much more polite, and even apologized the second time, but surprisingly this poor sole hasn't gotten back to me yet nor has taken down the card. :coffee:

The best thing to do, which I did is to report the item to eBay if they don't respond. This has helped take down things in the past. This seller could be scum or just not knowing cards at all. In situations like this I tend to think uneducated in cards, but I give people too much credit sometimes. If this card is reported a few time, which is located to the upper right of the description, eBay usually does take items like this down.

I tend to not do anything on eBay anymore with bad sellers because eBay doesn't care. They allow people to criminally rip-off people selling counterfeits or what the sellers call RP, reprints, or not really knowing if it is real and to buy at your own risk. Until eBay changes their policy I will avoid any high value purchases their and will just use myslab or this forum. eBay is a cesspool and trying to clean it up at this point is like trying to get all the trash out of the entire ocean.

I used to care about people trying to rip off other's on eBay, and still do to a degree. It is bad for the hobby and for new people trying to get into it. At some point though, eBay needs to step up and deal with this issue.
So, how does one go about reporting this to Ebay? I tried recently with another card but was unsuccessful as I couldn't find a way to report it. Is there still an option to do so?
The fact that ebay buries this so deep suggests that another writer is correct that ebay doesn't care or considers itself incapable of policing things of this nature: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/member-behavior-policies/report-item-listing?id=4739&st=3&pos=2&query=Report%20an%20item%20or%20listing%20%20%20&intent=report&lucenceai=lucenceai

On that page is both the report an item option, or further links to "report" a seller.

Alternatively, find and click the eBay Help link and type 'report' specifically in that search bar and the page will be the second hit.

The seller sold items that looks like what people usually pawn. He may have gotten tricked himself and don't want to be out of pocket if it doesn't sell. If we already alerted him and he is refusing to end the auction, we need to all report this item so ebay will end it for him.

Looking at bid history on item and seller’s refusal to engage any of us it seems clear he’s in on it. I have reported it to eBay.

I agree 100% with that, and many have also noted the same thing on many forums and it is part of the reason, if not all for some, why so many hate eBay.
I appreciate the link.
Thanks. :)!

To add to the case being frosted, you can see the crazy glue dabs in all corners, as someone resealed the slab..

The bottom corners are really bad, and the glue even yellowed some

Now 5h, but also wondering who is unobservant enough to pay actual money for this, but just figured it out--likely an FBI Agent authorized by the brass to secure the item in order to analyze those sophisticated gluing methods for clues to bring down the whole ring . . .

Sold for $5,300 dollars and nary a peep out of ebay.

I posted it on Net54 and some there also reported the seller to ebay so I'm guessing at least 10, likely more, reported this and still ebay did nothing.

Here's hoping the winning bidder has no intention of paying for the card and bid it up to block some unwitting buyer (like a parent or significant other of a card collector) from getting duped. Sadly, it appears the seller is determined to dump that on someone, regardless of the fraud. Willful ignorance is not a defense to fraud. In a dream world, the buyer bought the POS, waits for it to be delivered, etches "THIS CARD IS A FRAUD" into the case and makes a "item not as described" claim to get their money back.
