His front half is flying open too soon and his follow-up is falling toward first base like a slap hitter. As a result, he's not effective against the outter half of the plate and also not elevating the ball. It's odd because this seems like a problem he remedied in the first half of last year. Will probably take some offseason retweaking to get him right again. Not so much concerned about the long-term as a hitter as the issue is so blatant. This was a bad year for him on multiple fronts and I'm sure he's not in the best mental spot either. Buying opportunity!

His stuff has finally started to drop significantly in the last couple weeks. I was surprised it stayed high even after he got hurt and was struggling in early august. I think he's way too talented to give up on until he proves to me he's not an elite pitcher. Update prices are down to where they were at the beginning of the year and the BC autos are even lower now than at that time. Definitely a good gamble at these prices in this market

It's a well deserved drop but the big cards are still being held onto. You still don't see too many Bowman Chrome pitching autos (especially parallels) so the collecting community is clearly patient. Was shocked that I was able to win the hand on helmet ssp PSA 10 for $330 yesterday. There will definitely be buying opportunities ahead if you stay patient and alert. There's a very real possibility he never achieves what his talent indicates, but that's true for pretty much anyone.

If it was an auction I'd bid but there's no way someone with that ask is interested in selling near market price(I'd guess 350-400 with the 3 9s?). That's the first one that's been on Ebay in a year so it'd be tough to even find a fair price.

Did anyone pickup some nice stuff from the recent firesale from one of the collectors? I was going to post about the slew of listed cards but figured I'd let it end first :). I got the Update SSP batting PSA 10, A&G 352 mini (50 PR) PSA 10, TC Batting Auto PSA 10, and the S2 SSP Hand on Helmet PSA 9. As an earnest collector, couldn't be happier.
