Hawks had a top 10 defense earlier this year
When De'Andre Hunter was healthy the Hawks had a top 10 defense and offense.
I think he has a lower basketball IQ and has a serious issue holding onto the ball. The Hawks don't have the defense or offensive firepower to have Trae handle the ball the way he does. Just my opinion
|

How large of a sample size was that? |
Steve Smith ripping packs of Certified on the Pels/Jazz game on NBA TV.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of any NBA TV broadcast. It’s always best when whoever is ripping the packs has no clue about cards at all, haha. |
One-Quarter
18 games, so exactly one quarter of the season.

McDermott just lost a tooth on the court

Channing Frye just gave him crap for how he ripped the pack, even dropped PSA on him! He actually knows cards! |

Haha yeah I just saw that...they should have him rip the packs next time! |
Following up
I will agree though that Trae is a terrible defender that you have to structure your entire team around to hide that fact. The defense was top 10 with Cam Reddish - really great defender, De'Andre Hunter - strong defender, John Collins - pretty decent defender, Capela - strong defender. Trae basically had to do very little so it's not the best example. It was a team built to hide Trae's deficiencies on that end. Offensively though he's an absolute juggernaut.

It took Malone on the court screaming at the refs and getting T'd up to get Jokic some FT's... it's really unbelievable. Carter had 2 hands on him and then elbowed him in the mouth on a drive, Jokic still made the shot and didn't get the call. That was like instance #4 of "wtf no foul?" before Malone went balls out.
I just imagined Lebron/Harden having an aneurysm if they didn't get that call. |
Man I hate Steve Clifford.
Khem Birch plays 12 minutes, missed both shots and has a team worst -16, and Mo Bamba, who went 4/6 in his last game (including 3/3 from 3) gets NO GAME TIME. |
Pels, as usual, doing their best to blow a lead. Bledsoe with the drive and airball was hilarious.

Just give this man his MVP already lol

39-14-9-1-2 on 17/28 FG and 5/5 FT [while getting hacked all night] |
And then the Jazz with their own boneheadedness - Zion gets the rebound and they just stand around doing literally nothing, then he passes and they realise they kinda need a stop... But too late.
Why wouldn't you foul the not that great free throw shooter straight away??? NBA players somehow always shock me with their lack of awareness/tactics. |
Good one in SA

No horse in this race, he's definitely Top 3 and he's not # 3, IMO. Just need to rack up more wins to get the voters on his side. He needs to get them up to a 4th seed to start getting those 1st place votes, tbh. |

Nah, they were lucky to take it into OT which was good....but then the train went way off the track. Something to build on for the shortened lineup, only one more game like that before most guys are back. |

I posted it as OT started. Wheels fell off lol. Last year’s team fully loaded would’ve folded down 10+ earlier, then later in the game. They continue to dig in and play hard which is good. And seeing Luka step in shows they have more weapons developing. I was hoping it didn’t go the way it did in OT but had to remember, this is their second post COVID game so still playing shorthanded. They were gassed.. Then also considering they were torched by Brown/Claxton career high and the Nets only had 5 TOs. Had at least two out of bounds plays the refs missed that led to 4 or 5 points. Still forced OT? Not a win on paper but it shows that this team can compete :)! |

I think they're 1A and 1B, but Embiid is playing on the top team in the East. That would be the difference maker if the season ended today. Hopefully they both keep up the pace and we see a tight MVP race down the stretch. Two centers battling for it would be pretty wild. |
Jokic has 34 assists and 2 turnovers in his last 4 games
Yeah that's a 17.0 Assist:TO ratio from your center in the last stretch of games |
Pacers bad.
New Nate bad. Same old stagnant offense. I know a couple guys are out, but this team was built for depth. |
