Until Embiid/Lebron start overtaking him in some of these stats I just don't see how you can argue they deserve MVP over him. All they have at the moment is record, a team stat. It's MVP, not MVT.

Nobody is talking about Giannis for MVP right now. Yet, he's having another fantastic season, and the Bucks are now just a game and a half out of the 1 seed. They haven't beaten many top teams, but with games against the Clippers and Denver coming up (both at home), some high profile wins could put Giannis' name back in the crowded field of guys chasing the award.

Giannis has exactly 0% chance of winning MVP this year. His story for this regular season is already written.

Probably...... He would have to totally run away with it and he'd had to be a mile in front over everyone else....

I'm talking 5 game lead in the East at end of season, averages up to 30 and 13 on 57%+ shooting, with other guys continuing to tank (LeBron not winning without AD, Durant continuing to miss games, teams like Denver, Dallas, Golden State, and Portland continuing to stay around .500).

but I've seen it before, many times in these races... voters get caught up in the moment and forget about things that happen in the past. If what wrote above happens, absolutely 100% chance he's at least in the conversation and gets some votes his way.

Still would have no shot. Durant is already irrelevant. Missed too many games and no team with three bonafide superstars is going to have an MVP.

Jokic, Embiid, LeBron, Lillard, Luka, Curry, and Mitchell are the guys who stand a chance.

Giannis would have to do something truly remarkable to win it for a third time in a row. Just too many guys having incredible seasons at the moment, plus voter fatigue.

Giannis shoots 3s like Shaq shot free throws: painfully.

To be quite honest if Jokic/Embiid didn't win I'd be disappointed. I don't see others with a shot.

The biggest issue he has.

He's playing as well as anyone in the league. His team is now just a game out of first. He's the only All Star on his team They just got one of their few big wins of the year.

Factor out voter fatigue and he's definitely in the convo with the top 5-6 guys (I'm excluding Durant here... not enough games played).

You can jump forward and draw contact. You cannot move laterally. That is the rule. It was applied correctly.

They should change the rule this offseason.
