Losing is a disease.
What's more concerning is that the team is 0-13 in May when they've allowed 3+ runs.
Same thing tonight. This is pathetic |

They need to bring back the ice cream machine, or get rid of it. Or something. Maybe get Chipper in for a visit? Or we could buy into the conspiracy that the MLB wants more balls in play to create "action" and they deadened the ball this year. I'd almost be willing to bet that Mike's sac fly and Ozuna's GRD would have been homers with last year's ball |
Rough to say the least. Not even fun to watch.
|
Wild game. We're gonna need to plate a couple more if we want to break the winless streak when allowing 3+ runs.
|
Another frustrating loss yesterday. Saw a post on Twitter that showed the team's record at this point over the last 10 years or so and 2024 was on the better end, but it just feels different this year. Maybe it will be like 2021 where Ronald carried them the first half until the team got hot. Ozuna and the pitching are the only ones doing anything now.
It's just tough to watch. |

Braves sign Brian Anderson, transfer Tyler Matzek to 60-Day Injured List

He's been such a great story and these recent injuries are a terrible way for it to end. Anderson is interesting, considering the ironman approach the infield has. I would have guessed that Laureano was going to be the guy to take that 26th spot. |
Murphy got hit on both arms and, boy, did that throwing elbow balloon up quick. That knot was the size of a grapefruit by the time he left the field.
|
First time since April 28th that the Braves won a game where the opponent scored more than 2 runs.

Luckily sounds like he's OK. Travis was set to start today anyway. |
Luckily sounds like he's OK. Travis was set to start today anyway.
I figured Travis would have started anyway. Saw the x-rays were negative. Schwellenbach puts a pitch below the zone and inner half and Devers still was able to put it opposite field over the monster |
I'm just going to say it. Give Schwellenbach another start. I haven't seen much except for the Devers homer, so I can't speak on how he actually looked today. I want to see how he rebounds from getting knocked around. And if he can go 5-6 innings of competent ball, keep him up. I hate the constant bouncing back and forth; it doesn't work, and it just messes with everyone's rhythm and confidence.

Same, I'd give Schwellenbach another chance. I could do without watching Kerr pitch for us ever again. |

I agree on Kerr. The thinking they could quickly turn him into another Lopez was dumb. And I get that he was supposed to be this year's Tonkin, but at least Tonkin actually did that mop up role somewhat decently. |
Every team needs a Yonny or two to preserve the better pitchers arms. I hate when the Braves lose in June but get sick to my stomach watching them lose in October. They need to go all in while the team is still in their window. And 1 hit nobody was gonna win that game for the Braves today.

Waldrep getting called up for tomorrow's game.

First time watching him pitch. Boy, is he a Spencer Strider clone. Same cleats. Same pre pitch stance from the wind up. |
We suck. It’s bad.

I'm not sure what you even do with this team. The offense is a combination of poor performance and bad luck. Not going to blame the new ball, but the team is taking the same approach as last year. Nobody had a problem with it last season, because balls were leaving the park and falling for hits. They are only striking out about 3/4 of a time more per game this season than last. Even rounding up to 1 extra time per game doesn't create that big of a difference.
They are top 3 in barrel %, Hard Hit %, and Exit Velocity. Top 10 in xBA, top 5 in xSLG, and top 7 in xwOBA. You would think that the results are going to start coming eventually. |

You just need to put a ball in play anywhere basically, and it scores a run. Baffling and reflective of this season. |

But "we're built for the home run" not the get him in from third swing lol Team is ZERO fun to watch. Can't even enjoy our pitching because I know they're not going to get any support. Bat Ozuna leadoff if you have to. A la Schwarber. Riley to the bottom third. |

But when I have watched the team just isn't the same. Not the same energy or intensity like last year. Fire Snit! Lol. |
