I still stick by my statement that this is poor ROI.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you completely. But until this year, Heritage has been primarily a set-builders product, not a case-breakers product. Nobody except the few big breakers really cared about ROI. Boxes were $55-65, and you did Heritage because it was a fun set-building project.

This year, however, two things killed Heritage for me.

The first was the increase from 75 SP's to 100 SP's, which made the set that much more expensive and difficult to build, but did nothing to make the set better.

Second was the increase in box prices driven by speculation.

Bottom line, this year was the first year I didn't build Heritage since 2012 (the 1963 design). And because of the increased box prices and extra SP's, I probably won't be building it again until one of my favorite designs comes up again (1975 & 1976 designs in 2024 & 2025).

I'm telling you, Bowman Heritage needs to make a glorious comeback.

As hot as the prospect, young star market is, it would be a gold mine for Topps. Mix Topps Heritage formula plus the prospect Bowman autos...why why why has this not been done yet? There's just so much potential if you had a creative product designer leading the charge.

Will disagree there....probably about 20-30 guys doing case breaks since 2014 (thats when I started Heritage so can't speak to anything before that). My sole evaluation on a product is ROI. As blue streak said, just more guys jumping on the 'gravy train', not realizing its far from gravy until its too late. Thankfully a lot of them will be out by the time bowman is here an gone. Year over year trend, but it definitely spiked with heritage this year.

I wouldn't mind that....but isn't MiLB heritage....kinda that in a nut shell?

Yeah kind of, but he mid 2000's Bowman Heritage is kind of what I'm getting at. MLB licensed with both MLB players and MiLB players. The mid 00's products failed because:

1) Heritage wasn't AS popular yet as the market still had other competitive products
2) The SP/variaitons today just have a better format than back then
3) The young talent in the mid 00's was pretty bleak compared to today.

I just feel that 51/52/53/54 Bowman designs would be unreal if they featured the likes of Trout, Bryant, Betts, Harper, and the rookie logo rookies + first year draft rookies (guys that would be in 2017 Bowman and Bowman Chrome for example). It would be unbelievable IMO for breakers, prospectors, singles buyers, graders, everyone.
I hate them, like with an undying passion. I bought an Opening Day National Anthem not knowing. They're just annoying, nowhere to store them even if I liked them.
My LCS stocks them and I will send you a few if you need them. Just PM me your address.

I like the 5x7's to get autographed.

i was one of the few that said that this year would do this, and i was repeatedly bashed for it. and thats fine, no worries. But it is what it is. i still love heritage and at this point its more about keeping my "run" going, then anything else. i'll eventually own this years master set. not sure if i'll piece it together from the wax ive busted, or pick it up whole

I didn't bash....I was right there with you!! Heritage is still a buyer's market on ebay. Will it be that way by the end of the year?

If the rookies do well, I see it coming around, and prices climbing. If the rookies tread water, I can see this being cheap all year, with eventually, box prices going down (or at least stable)

The thing is: GQ is coming, Bowman is coming, Ginter is coming....I just see heritage getting lost in the shuffle....

We are all sorry, thanks for participating.

I always wonder why someone who isn't buying the product has to make comments about it.I'm not going near GQ and you won't see me in a thread about it, or any other thread about product I'm not buying.

I never bothered with Heritage as I preferred Archives(plus I disliked the Heritage logo), but after Topps started watering archives down with signature series, I took a second look at Heritage. I am now hooked! Love the content and I think will hold more value than archives in the long run.

That was 3 spring training homers ago 2 lol. We will see how it ends up, the short print on these are crazy. I was able to grab 1 for $225 on ebay, lowest sale price I think was $175. I appreciate you hooking me up and hope good karma comes your way on your next monster pull.

You bet, was still a great sale price so I'm not complaining. Looking forward to that next monster pull tho!

Only 20 cards :( I had 15 free vouchers, so the extra 5 cards were all like $18 each (all Heritage though). The rest of my Heritage are going in the 30 day sub with some low end in a 50 day whenever they run a decent special again.
