I own some of this and I don't understand the prices. Nothing too special about these, IMO.
The cards look great. Goofy 1/1 sold for over $9k. If that is worth $9k how many cards are worth more than $9k? Quite a few. The floor on these, at least right now, is as high as any product. It's very limited. 1 in 50 shot at a 1/1. |
I don’t know enough about the singles market to really have an idea on ceiling, but there’s just so little supply even on the market at this point. Last sale for $640/box. Think a lot of this will get ripped considering the floor.

I wondered how much the prices might have to do with that Goofy sale. I assume that’s a pretty middling 1/1 in this set. Think I’m just going to sit on my 6 left and see what happens. |

With that said, I never expected it to uptrend as quickly as it did. And, like you got at Howie, I'm pretty sure that RBP's $9.5k sale fueled the frenzy. So, RBP, thank you too!! :) |
I got shut out of the initial sale when Topps website delayed box offerings for two hours but I STILL think this is a cool set. Not sure what the naysayers are upset about. It’s a cool looking set!

Not really any super exciting singles sales in past 24 hours (not sure CardLadder is pulling everything). Down to 14 boxes on eBay and $700 floor though.
Goofy 1/1 sold for over $9k.
Goofy, indeed. You could buy an authentic Walt Disney autograph for less than that. Maybe the buyer already has a bunch? I don't get it. |
The singles market (aside from 1/1s) does not support box price but the supply is so limited. Kudos to whoever made the move to buy up supply

It’s a breaker thing. Horrible value, but I saw one breaker making their $500 box price by selling $6 random spots. No one will bat an eye at dropping $6 even though 95 spots are left with nothing. Then, I noticed a guy selling random spots for an entire case at $199 per spot. You do that math when there are 100 spots. If people keep joining breaks like this these are going to go insane. I’m not saying that will happen, but I am saying that people are dumb and the lottery ticket game is in full effect. I was really curious ahead of time to watch these sealed prices. Disney sapphire is $2k a box with 4 hits. This was all over eBay at $500 with 5 hits. But they aren’t as pretty. And it stretches across other areas like Star Wars. So it will be interesting to watch the next couple of week.

At least for now, the return on a floor box is interesting to me too when you compare it by percent to other products. Just a lot of things that I think are going to force price upward. |
Over $500 a box is wild for a box to retail at $100.
If you got em, sell em now before people move on to the next disney centric product. Got 3? Sell em and buy a Chrome Disney 100 box. :)! Got 1? Sell and buy a Chrome Disney or Chrome Marvel. |

The price it sells for at release is irrelevant to actual market value. |

Have you seen products over the last year? All that matters is the chase. There are a ton of chase cards in this. There are Panini products like Noir and Impeccable that you may go a month without seeing a sale that is higher than a couple boxes. Some of the Panini products also only have 1 chase card and it's not even worth close to $100k. 2023-24 Impeccable Basketball FOTL is $3400 a box. You could easily open 100 boxes of that and lose on every box. 2023-24 NT Basketball FOTL is over $5k a box. That's $2k more than hobby. Is there a /15 rookie patch auto besides for Amen Thompson that would cover that $2000+ difference? 90-95% chance of losing money going with FOTL over hobby. Plus no big chase. Yet, that's the market. Just something recent, those Prizm Football Premium sets are still somehow $4300. I don't even know if there still is a chase card. I know Jayden, Caleb, Mahomes, and at least 1 of the other couple QBs have been pulled. So what is the chase? Any of those boxes that don't have those 1 of the at best 2 QB cards left are big losers. That's if 1 or 2 are even still there. Anyway, right now what is a better rip for the price than Genesis? Is there anything more than $500 a box? |

You think breakers are the ones that bought 90% of the box supply that was available on ebay in less than 18 hours? Lol ok. There is a certain big 3 member that has had all 5 spots available in a break the last few days for $140 spot. Not one has sold. Over the last 2 days there is probably no percentage of product out there that has been bought less by breakers. |

Impossible to know who bought all. But I know for a fact that a couple breakers bought very large positions over the last 24 hours. For a guy as smart as you, I would think you would know that this type of product is a specialized product that doesn’t work with random breakers like DA. There are certain people that are not in the normal circle of breakers and hobby talk that consume large portions of this kind of release. DA becomes a supplier to these guys and gals because they will never be able to sell spots on their site for what others are getting. |

Large portions? There are 5K boxes and the vast majority was sold on Topps website. Percentage wise, products like these are the least supply the big are getting. They aren't selling any or small amounts because they legitimately don't have it. The big purchases of these were from what like Monday morning 3-4 am until maybe mid Monday afternoon. You really think these were bought by breakers? There was some huge breaking bonanza on these between those hours on those days? Sure. Im not saying breakers aren't buying it now. I think this is one of the few products priced this high that breakers are buying a much lower percentage of versus other buyers. |

I know for a fact that a chunk of the secondary sales were for breakers. I’m sure some individuals will open some too, but not as many as these prices rise. These crazy prices only exist because of prices being fractionalized and the lottery ticket becomes affordable. |

I have 0 input on this particular product but I can tell you from my own sales this is not the case for the 2023 Disney chrome release. Again I'm just speculating but if the same collectors are into this as were and are into 2023 Disney chrome, then it either already is or will be more than just breakers buying this up. Given that you know breakers are buying this, that only increases the chances of this going significantly higher than current levels. |

I get it. Until not too long ago I didn’t realize some of these breakers existed. Much less at the scale they are able to move some of these spots. Regardless, as I always say, demand is demand. Doesn’t matter where it’s coming from. |
Well I haven't sold any singles, but looks like prices are on the rise again.
|
Hot damn, I knew boxes were going to uptrend but I didn't realize just how much (and quickly).
Where do they level off at? |
On a separate note, I bought a single (base /99) for my daughter. Should arrive within the next few days.
Likely going to pick up some other singles (base /99s) too, as long as priced right. |
