Was in a case break last night, 10 relics and 2 autos. Of course the breakers are doing their best with this, but obviously they cant pick out all the variations etc. Looking forward to seeing what shows up in the mail.
There was this gradient pattern and then there was somebody else who found a number of cards with a yellow background on the normally-white backside name box. Apparently they contacted Topps, who said fairly tersely that it wasn't a variation. Well I don't care what Topps says: if they printed a huge number of obvious variants accidentally, then...they have created a variant. It seems dumb to adhere to a list of official "error" cards that are actually completely intentional while overlooking these apparent real errors/variants.
Agreed, matters not what TOPPS says, matters if buyers are willing to pay a premium for such cards... :D |

Printing errors not variants. These aren't coins that have strict quality control, some printing errors can occur but if you think you have the next Frank Thomas printing error go for it.
Agreed, matters not what TOPPS says, matters if buyers are willing to pay a premium for such cards... :D
Maybe a player collector will pay a little more for these printing flaws and it all depends on how bad they want the card. I know it sounds crazy but I have actually met collectors that look for miss cut cards to add to their collections and stars cards are highly sought after. |
Man...seeing numerous retail hits that are better than full cases of hobby that I've opened...grats!
I've bought 8 blasters, 8 hangers, 10 racks and about a dozen individual packs. Best card I got was a Rizzo relic /99. Retail is brutal. You only hear about the ones that get posted. |
Is there anything special about the Bunt Code Cards in heritage? They odds have them pretty hard to pull. I got 2 over the weekend, 1 from a Hanger and the other from a few hobby packs. Just wondering if they are worth redeeming.
Thanks, |

Thanks,
They sell for $2 dlvd. |

agree. I have a small sample size (2 target, 1 walmart) retail blasters and I got: a whole lot of not much, 1 Cabrera #'d, not much else....
I still have 2 target blasters unopened. I might just hold on to them. |
I opened 7 blasters and 3 hanger boxes. No big variations besides a deGrom blue ref and plenty of high number SPs. Won't be buying any more retail.
|
Retail is money if you get it early. If you're buying it now, forget it. I bought $100 worth of retail on Wednesday morning, and I had already made my money back and then some by the afternoon (plus my son had an IP auto from Michael Bourn and some O's cards for his collection).

Last night was the first Heritage break I was in, and I really had a good time watching. It was funny, I saw him pass right by action Variations of Bryant, harper, and trout, as well as a color swap of Seager without saying a thing, then spends 30 seconds showing off a 1986 rediscover topps Rick Schu

I pulled a Bouton and a Nen auto, a Willson Contreras #/68, 1 Trout SP, 1 Bryant SP, almost completed the Target game card set and a few other SPs. I know it's a gamble but it's even more of a gamble buying retail. |

I collect the sets and action and color swaps but I like opening packs like everyone else... Bought a ton of 16 Heritage and HHN and got nothing .... Got 3 hangers of 17 on the first Wednesday thought best card was a Harper base sp... Then I got 4 blasters and pulled a Bryant chrome refractor not bad... Realized on Saturday that Harper was actually a throwback!!! (Already traded with my friend so it's gone)... But my gf got me two of the Blasters and I was explaining to her how the chances of pulling something are extremely rare and the Bryant refractor was a great pull especially from retail even if it is only a $20 card. Point of the story is it can happen! I started collecting Heritage last year so I would estimate I have gotten 8 16 blasters and 4 Hangers, 3 16 HHN blasters and 4 blasters and 3 hangers of 2017... So after spending around $300 I was probably down $270 before the Harper but it's supposed to be a fun hobby. And if your in it for money I would avoid retail |
Target RC Blasters seem to have 1 RC and 2-3 SPs per blaster. Then theres the other crap inserts in there as well. All that for $20 doesnt seem to bad for 8 packs IMO. That's $2.50 a pack. How much are Hobby packs? $5?
Of course retail is a risk, that's a given, but it's difficult to get a "cheaper fix" at that price point. Buying a sealed box of hobby online is risky due to case pulls and the fact that you can tell what the box topper is without much effort |

So true!! Shows how dumb most of these breakers are. Why they can't spend 15 Minutes to figure out product. but in a way I love it. Beauty of heritage!!! These clowns only can look for serial numbers and something shinny. Heritage is meant to busted and enjoyed at a slow pace. Where you actually Look at the cards and backs and put sets together. |

I always buy a couple of hobby boxes, but I have no willpower when it comes to Heritage blasters. 4 blasters and 2 hanger packs, pretty much the bare minimum you would expect. I did get a Bryant SP, so that was nice, but nothing else of note. |

20? I think it's way more. |
Anyone want to guesstimate the value of a Mike Trout Signed Poster? It's /5.

Totally throwing this out there, but my best guess is $500. |

That's how sbb is with a lot of breaks. I was in the break and watched it this morning. Was in all of their breaks so will be a nice surprise outside of the relics or autos. Last box they had a refractor of swanson/Ruiz that looked like a possible gold and they didn't even look at it. |

I guess we will see as it's now listed. Holy Cow!!!! | eBay The owner spoke to me on Saturday about it's value and I told him to list it at $1,000 OBO, but he likes auctions. He also got a Bryant auto and Trout Blue Refractor. Almost not fair. |

This one is a significant color change in an obvious area that should not be yellow, on a limited number of cards on a limited number of subjects that appears to be an unintentional error. I would never say these are $100 cards or anything of the sort. I do feel however, that the yellow box variations should not just be thrown in with the damaged or miscut cards. I mean isn't stuff like this what all the Heritage errors are based off of anyways? |
No Target RCs at ALL?
Besides those. I got one in each blaster. A couple of boxes also had a blue one too. Nothing else tho worth mentioning tho. |
