New outside interest may propel the box prices up and make for more competition, but thankfully we will continue to have a stream of singles hit the market due to the breakers. Otherwise it would turn into a sealed product hobby and we would see very few cards hit the market.
I agree with this. I just don't think Mosaic is as limited as people in this thread are making it out to be for the reasons I mentioned (New resellers, Hoarders, tons available on the aftermarket, etc.)

Perhaps they are right, or maybe they are just pumping it, because they are sitting on a bunch of unopened or singles.

Personally, I would take Prizm or Optic any day over Mosaic. But not like I am finding that anywhere cheap either haha.

Chaysr20 05-16-2020 11:42 AM

1 Mega box for me yielded a Zion base, Zion NBA Debut Silver, Zion NBA Debut Mosaic, Giannis MVP Blue Reactive, and more. Maybe this will encourage more opening and less hoarding :D

yep, that’s the silver lining for sure.

Frankp2311 05-16-2020 11:46 AM
So if new “collectors” are just in for the profit and kept products sealed, wouldnt this increase the value of singles due to perceived scarcity? And also increase the price of sealed wax if they are not being released in the market - are we royally screwed both ways???

Well I think that has been the case with why we are seeing $50 base cards in products such as Optic. My point is just if it wasn't for breakers busting hobby cases, and retail as well for those who dont hoard, we wouldnt even have singles to pick from. I just cant believe the average person is dropping $800 on a box of prizm and ripping it.

SURVIAL MODE

It is survival of the fittest right now. I have been out of work since MARCH 17. I need the cash. Hot item (Mosaic basketball), buy it, resell it. Put dinner on the table. Good luck to all. It is a jungle out there! Thank you Panini and Mr. Williamson for your contribution.

Anyone know if Excel stocks in Saturday’s at any Targets??? Checked my closest targets the past few days and no restock. Went early this morning same scenario, just afraid if I went too early. Let me know if anyone ran into a rep at Target today or knows their target was stocked today! Thanks

Yeah breakers got to break. They make money off a break even if they buy from the secondary market

this should not be overlooked. Very true. Check this. I hit up the walmart by my house this morning and the rep was there stocking. Someone was already there with all the mosiac in his cart. There were two people there. I think they were buddies or partners. i think they were there a while before i got there because i can hear them talking about the listings. Apparently, these dudes took the stash and listed it on ebay before even buying it from walmart  waiting in the store for someone to buy their listing so they can go to the cash register and pay. pretty smart....but also extremely desperate. i couldn’t believe it. lol

thenightman 05-16-2020 12:20 PM

I got an email yesterday afternoon saying target had restocked. Some are saying they reloaded last night. I didn’t get an email for that.

Super weird.

Also, as someone asked above, does excel work on Saturday’s?

Heck last night I saw guys ripping mega boxes with breakers at 125 per. That is straight crazy. Secondary prices on retail wax for this stuff is bonkers right now.
Ouch!
That’s about as cheap as you’ll find, only gonna get more expensive on secondary unfortunately

$125 is actually a steal if people were buying at that price through breakers. You can't even sniff this on the secondary market for less than $140-$150 right now and can always expect to pay at least 20% or so above market value if going through a breaker

UncleFace 05-16-2020 01:02 PM

If he wanted to open some boxes that bad, I don't blame him. I know I am in the minority probably, but I would rather pay the extra then spend my time off going to target/Walmart and hoping to get lucky. Most likely striking out. Especially during these times, there are people everywhere and long lines. Sounds horrible lol.

Don't get me wrong, I check the Walmart 5 mins away every couple weeks but thats about it. Just prefer to do other things with my free time.

Yeah the guy busted 4 boxes for $500 but it was friends and family payments so that helps some I guess. That is still a ton for 4 megas that cost $225 out the door after taxes lol. Crazy and fun times we live in.

My buddy owns a pizza shop, place has been slammed since pandemic. He’s short drivers too so I’ve been helping out. I’ll tell ya what if you have good food delivery drivers make pretty damn good money for 4-5 hours of work a night!

Just an idea for people out there struggling that are humble enough to swallow their pride.

UncleFace 05-16-2020 01:13 PM

LOL agree! Give me a break.

Plenty of places hiring if you need money!
