I don’t care that it was Brady or if it’s any other team. I just want the right calls made especially in the final minute.

I agree with you - most annoying arguments involve how officiating should happen in the final minutes of a game. "You can't call that when the game is on the line" Well if it was called in the first quarter killing a drive why can it not be called in the 4th quarter to kill a drive? So in the first 3.5 quarters that is a penalty but the last minutes the rules change? I get you don't want the refs deciding a game but doesn't the same go for a missed call? That push off gave just as much advantage to Tampa Bay as the holding call against Dallas' tackle on JPP. Amazing one call was warranted but the other was not - both happened on the final drives.

That would have been a very weak pass interference call. Looks like a dive more than a push.

Agree. Floppy McFlopperson was trying to sell it but I’m not buying.

foleylion08 09-10-2021 08:26 AM

There is holding on every play as well as offensive and defensive pass interference on just about every play, (according to the rule book). On both teams. All the time.

So what exactly is the solution? Is there a happy medium between calling EVERY penalty and letting some slide? Do we need one referee for every player on the field?

A ref buddy system? That would be hilarious.

It's amazing that we were treated to an excellent football game to open the year and the main topic this morning is a knuckle dragging conversation about a 50/50 penalty that wasn't called.

Happened on the pivotal play of the game winning drive - can’t be avoided. But yeah - great game overall and great way to start the season.

Yeah fun game to open the season. Bucs kept shooting themselves in the foot. Should of been a bigger margin of victory. They clean up that stuff and they are going to be damn near impossible to beat.

And the 50/50 call never would have mattered if the refs called a number of blatant penalties on Dallas earlier in the game.

I love football season. :coffee:

tjforce is right - that's a 50/50 penalty that could get called either way depending on the officiating crew.

I would NEVER throw a flag on that, ever. The defender had his hand on Godwin's back AND inside arm on a back shoulder throw. Watch again, Godwins "push off" arm is actually HELD AND PULLED by the defender, giving the appearance of something worse. Then the defender flopped.

Great non-call.

I don't care about the Bucs or Brady and own not a single Brady card.

Vea and Donald would be an amazing pairing in the middle of a defense.

Each is such an explosive athlete for their positions that I don't believe there is an offensive interior that could consistently block them.

His fg % in first three years seems to be going in the wrong direction. 93%, 81% and 72%. Badgley should be a solid pickup. I mean his nickname is the Money Badger
