I really like Diaz. I was very hopeful that he could turn into a really good starting shortstop last year. His defense is not spectacular, but he has some pop and can go on some nice streaks. Blue Jays have lots of youngers coming up that need playing time. Maybe now I can move my Heritage Red Ink, lol
I bought a 9.5 red ink last month for $30. He had a great 2nd half of the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the info. If his defense isn't spectacular, would being a full time DH be a good idea with him filling at a position when needed? |

No, he is not good enough for a full-time DH either. He will be a utility type guy. |

Marwin will be gone and he is insurance for when Correa takes his yearly DL stint. |
Not sure how the Dbacks could ever trade Goldschmidt
• The Astros and Cardinals have had discussions with the Arizona Diamondbacks about a trade for Paul Goldschmidt, although no deal is close. (Ken Rosenthal, The Athletic) |
Nats sign Kurt Suzuki for 2 years

Do you understand what rebuild means? |
Looks like SD and Seattle are working on a trade involving Wil Myers, Jean Segura and Mike Leake...guessing other names too

Odd trade but ok |

Christian Walker could be the starting 1B next year as part of the Dbacks rebuild! Love it! Jeff |
Twins/Dbacks have been talking Goldy...
|
Twins/Dbacks have been talking Goldy...
Why would the Twins go that route? Seems like a waste of prospects. They were 6 games under .500 this year and had a negative run differential. I don't think 1 year of Goldy is going to fix anything. It would put them further away. |

Could be contingent on an extension. |
Yeah my squad trading for Goldy makes no sense at all unless he’s incredibly cheap and/or we know we can extend him. If that’s the case, I’d love to see it! Otherwise, stay far away
|
Could be contingent on an extension.
I don't see that happening. Goldy is probably smart enough to want open bidding since he is so good. Unless he has some connection to that area (I have no idea). |
Reds signed Rasiel Iglesias to a 3 year deal through 2021 to avoid arb. Worth $24,125,000

Read that Astros and Cubs among at least 6 teams interested in Thor.

Please lord let the mets get harper!!!
Please lord let the mets get harper!!!
Why would you want harper?? Thats just another huge contract on a rebuilding team |
Bryce Harper is going to be the guest picker at the Ohio State game for College Gameday tomorrow, so I'm pretty sure that means he's either signing with the Indians or Reds based on the ideology of this thread.

As a Braves fan, I hope the Mets get Harper as well.:)! |
Ellsbury blows, Yankees should have run to get this done.
The Yankees and Mariners reportedly discussed potentially swapping Cano and Jacoby Ellsbury, but talks broke down when New York asked for Seattle to include "significant cash" in addition to Cano. (Kyle Schnitzer, New York Post) |
