It's incredible - a few times a year he turns on vintage Lebron and becomes the destroyer of dreams. The fact that he can just flip it on and off is just insane.

drobfan8 01-25-2021 10:43 PM

I actually think the MVP this season will be from Europe.

bigjbasketball 01-25-2021 10:44 PM
Can you be a front runner when there are other guys with better numbers and you play alongside what looks like the DPOY who is also elite offensively? Serious question as I'm thinking of getting some $$$ on Bron for MVP as I already got in early on Jokic and Luka.
If the Lakers stay one of the best teams in the league and LeBron continues to play the way he’s playing, I can’t see anyone else winning MVP over him no matter what they do. I can’t believe what he is still doing in year 18. I just watched the whole game vs the Cavs tonight and he played completely out of his mind. He looks like he’s 26 instead of 36; it’s really quite remarkable.

Especially in a big game like vs the Cavs.......

Although he obviously didn't wanna get the BKN treatment Sexton served up.

brothertona 01-25-2021 10:45 PM

Ben Simmons is weaker offensively this year but he's so good defensively, and has such excellent court vision that you're willing to deal with the warts. The Sixers would obviously be better with a better offensive piece but unless you are getting a superstar you aren't trading Ben Simmons.

brothertona 01-25-2021 10:46 PM

Jokic is the front-runner for MVP to me. Statistically he's the most valuable player this year.

They're throwing fisticuffs over an 8 seed right now.

codered 01-25-2021 10:48 PM

MPJ is a superstar in the wings. When he gets minutes he never fails to impress me. How long does he stay content in Denver?

Yeah we heard this last season. At his age what he's doing is amazing.

But there are other players with better numbers and there are other teams with the same record and they don't have AD.

I think he's a great chance. But his pairing with AD will and should hurt him just like it did with Steph and KD.

Swap Luka and Bron and I can't imagine the Mavs having a better record. Whereas the Lakers would still be rolling along. They're 10 deep.

brothertona 01-25-2021 10:50 PM

MPJ I doubt re-signs with the Nuggets.

And so they should DEN win and they start to move in to that top 4 spot.

Lose and they're fighting for 8th like you say.

Vice versa for the Mavs.

As usual you are wrong

Dallas would be significantly better with LeBron

And I love Luka

But this is psycho talk

yiguiri2002 01-25-2021 10:50 PM

LeBron is the frontrunner. The best player on the best team is always the frontrunner.

Funny thing is, some LeBron fans think he was robbed against Giannis and D-Rose...when they were both the best player on the best team.

You actually think the Mavs would have a worse/the same record if you swapped Luka and Bron? That’s wild.

Mavs would get better, Lakers would get worse. Lebron just gets the best out of everyone and is the better player.

They lost J. Grant.

They are giving MPJ everything he wants surely..

What a big shot just then

Yet Vegas disagrees and so does the media that votes on it.

Sure, if LeBron keeps dropping 46 on teams and or they set some regular season records I think he could get it.

But if you actually look at who the MVP is metric wise. It's Jokic, Luka, Embiid (games played will hurt him).

brothertona 01-25-2021 10:55 PM

There are maybe two players in the league that you could put on any team and immediately make them contenders - Chris Paul and Lebron James. If Lebron James is on your team you're going to the finals - there are few teams in the league that if you put Lebron on them he wouldn't make them a winner.

You seem to forget what Bron did the season before without AD. He was playing .500 ball with far more than what Luka has been rolling with this season..

Somehow LeBron is playing even better this year than last year. Throw stats out the window and pay attention to the narrative. If LeBron is the best player on the best team in the league, he will win MVP. It’s really not more complicated than that.

You’re really comparing AD now to prime KD on the Warriors? That’s not even close IMO. AD has been great defensively, but he’s up and down on offense this year. He just put up 17 pts on 5/16 shooting, and he’s had more than a couple games like that so far. KD outplayed LeBron in 2 straight Finals and won back to back Finals MVPs

I think Jokic will be a close second in MVP voting if the Nuggets can keep climbing in the standings. If they finish the season as a 4 or 5 seed in the middle of the pack in the west, he’s not winning.

Lebron had more? Who did he have? Certainly not anyone like Kristaps.

Oh god. Man. Chris Paul? Lol. He lost in the 1st round last season and will again.

Chris Paul is great and getting a team to become a Playoff team. But contend? No.

Bron we all know needs the right mix around him. I mean, add AD to any other top 10 player, think Harden, Giannis, KD, Steph, Luka, Kawhi and they too will be on top of the west. Hell the Clips are being slept on right now.

FYI I am loading up on the Lakers for the title. The reg season is different. Other dudes are working harder.

Do we have an answer yet as to why lebron gets a pass having another top 5 player on his team, but KD and Steph were always ruled out since they played together? Or is it just because it's lebron, so he should just automatically get it every year regardless....

Have you been watching the Lakers? AD has not been playing well on the offensive end. Yes, he is still averaging 20 a game, but he has had way too many 6-16 shooting games.

Umm...LeBron hasn’t won a regular season MVP since 2013. Not sure how gets a pass and always wins...
